Hello,
I'm not sure wether to buy back my 04 Les Paul Studio or buying a 1999.

They look the same (both black), the 04 is more worn (which I don't mind) and the 1999 has gold hardware.
They both have flag-inlays.

Is there any difference, like neck profile, chambered bodies, is 1999 a better production year?

Which one would you take?
Price is a little bit more for the 1999.

that's too much for a studio unless there is something special about it.

sounds like you really want a relic by your other posts.

you can find something for that amount with some checking i'm sure .

doesn't have to be murphy lab, watch for a used "dax" on reverb.

for example;

I agree with the above post that is high for a studio imho. You already know how the 04 sounds and feels. Do you have access to the 99 or is it online. A good a, b would help.

These guitars weren't produced far apart enough to have different construction techniques or features that would make one more preferable than the other (chambering started in 2006). Early 90s Studios with ebony boards are more sought after though.

grab one of these gibson studio husks and add your own preferred hardware, pups, ect.

studios are the best bang for the buck...i own too many but i love them all, reasonable priceed to turn them all into players with your own preferences, and never be afraid of doing anything you want to them..price is right!

im tempted to buy all three from the guy as i have parts to complete all of them....btw, i do have a Dax relic and i do like it, you could also send him one of these husks to start as well....just a thought

Thanks for all the replies.

Yes I meant the production years 1999 and 2004.
Anyways, good to know that shouldn’t make much difference. Im gonna listen to my gut :)
Both are fair priced (I think) at about 600 and 700 dollars.

Is the bridge a Gibson ABR-1 or a Nashville on the 1999 Les Paul Studio ?

I ended up buying back my old guitar. it's even better than I remembered.
Has some nice checking on it and plays pretty good. Just needs a little better setup.

Lol I missed that
Thank you Whom!!
I really like the early to mid 2000's era of Les Pauls, before 2008. On average they had great wide flame tops. What do I know ?? This is just me observing
