Frets were crowned but not much meat left on them. Weighing up a re-fret at the moment.

Made some more progress this week, about time! I took the guitar out to the garage and introduced it to a few scotchbrite pads and the sander.

Front before sanding:



Front and back after 5-10 mins with the scotchbrite / sander:





Light polish on the rear:



Light polish on the front and pickup cavities copper-taped:



Hoping to pick up a bit of momentum with this now.

Nice! Your first post reads like the thread I posted the other day too! I too upgraded from a crappy strat to an epiphone Les Paul bought nearly 20 years ago from R&B music in Aberdeen. It too has had a full overhaul, except I wasn't as brave with the frets and nut, so a Luther did them.

Nice works far! If it helps, the bridge and tailpiece bushes come out real easy
