1980 Gibson Heritage Series Standard 80 Les Paul in Tobacco Burst

$4390 Delivered / Lower 48

By virtue of the fact you are looking at this listing, I will assume you are familiar with this model. Tons of info on the net about the Heritage Series.

I have over 200 shots in Hi-Rez - message me for a link. See the below slideshow for many more photos also.

This one is one of the Finest Examples of a " Pre-Historic " Les Pauls I've ever seen. The Flame Tops on the Standard 80 are quite rare, and so few with this level of Flame, Grain and Figure. This one checks off all the boxes.

In Exceptional Condition for a near 40 year old guitar. Virtually no playwear. Extremely minor "button marks" on the back, and a couple of pin head marks on the top. None through the Nitro.

100% Original and 100% Functional The control cavity was opened for the 1st time for these shots since the guitar shipped 39+ years ago.

Most of the Heritage Series come in well over 10 lbs, this one is 9lbs 10oz and is very balanced.

Included:
  • Original Gibson Owner's Manual
  • Original Gibson Warranty Information / Price Card
  • Original Gibson Truss Rod Too
  • Gibson USA Hard Shell Case Circa 1988 with the heavier Pink Shroud. The Combination Lock has never been set - the Factory Red Tumbler Holder Still in place and has the Original Combination Instruction Card.
Specs:
  • Mahogany Body
  • Mahogany Neck
  • Rosewood Fingerboard
  • Trapezoid Inlays
  • 24 3/4" Scale Length
  • 12" Radius
  • 1 11/16" Nut Width
  • 22 Frets
  • .883" Neck Profile at Nut
  • .968" Neck Profile at 12th Fret
  • Gibson Shawbucker Humbucker Pickups
  • Individual Volume Controls and Tone Controls
  • Three Way Selector Switch
  • Tune-o-Matic Bridge
  • Stopbar Tailpiece
  • Nickel Hardware

Great example of this series. I have one that is much more reliced(my avatar) than this but it is a spectacular guitar, even with the pickups changed.
Best of luck with the sale but you WILL regret it.

Beautiful! It says the board is ebony, but it looks more like Brazilian. What a fine LP.

Mine is rosewood also. I don`t know about braz, but definitely not ebony.
There are a LOT of discrepancies with this series.
The only constant is they are all great guitars.

My bad - worked from an Elite ad I had that comes with the Ebony board. Thanks.

There are rumors floating around that some of these were Braz, but I'd never speculate on that.

All 3 models were supposed to have ebony but like I said, many variations.
Mine I believe is a precurser to the series.
I say that because as I was told it was bought in London by a semi famous guitar player in 78/79 and it was used then.
