They were pretty interesting guitars.
Had crazy electronics through a partnership with Moog.
See this has been changed over to LP wiring, = less headaches.

See them for sale on Reverb.

If memory serves, I believe they were made in Kalamazoo VS. Nashville.

Keep us posted if you buy it.

I always thought they were cool looking. Kind of like a Firebird and an Explorer got together and had a baby.

I bought a 79 last summer. Completely original Artist with the full electronics...

That's an RD Custom. Only had the treble boost but not the compression expander on the Artist. There was also a Standard. All maple construction. Quite heavy but perfectly balanced and the most tuning stable guitar I have. Only had to tune it about 3 times in a year and that includes a string change. Mine has low Frets. Don't know if it's normal or just wear / levelling. The treble boost is useful for taking people's heads off; it's that piercing. The compressor in the artist is good though. Oh and the originals were mostly 25.5 scale length.
