Hello everyone!
1f44b_1f3fb.png
New here, and I'd like to ask for your knowledge.
I just got this Ibanez. I could not find any other info about it, apart from the aparent model, which is No. 2456 (see http://www.hoshinogakki.co.jp/.../catalog/1975Oldies.pdf)
It does not look exactly as the one in the catalog, mostly tuners, bridge and tailpiece have been changed, and pickups may have been changed as well.
Seller did not know the model, so I did a fast search, and came to realize it may be the model. Yet, Reverb or Ebay, or even the internet in general seem to have no info about it.
What do you think? Is it this model? Or do you know the exact model?

Yes, that's a 1976 version of the 2456.

Ibanez changed the headstock design of their Gibson style guitars in 1976, and had pretty much replaced the Gibson copies altogether with their own designs by 1977.

Your guitar does seem to have a changed tailpiece, tuners, pickups and bridge.

The 1975 catalog shows a 'flowerpot' inlay on the headstock which was changed to the inlay like on yours at the same time the headstock shape was changed.

The 2456 model doesn't seem to appear in the 1976 catalogs, so you might have a bit of a rarity there. Not worth a huge sum of money but a sweet guitar.

That's what I thought, it must be a post lawsuit guitar, with changed details.
Do you know the name of those headstock inlays? It looks like a bird that I've only seen in pre lawsuit Ibanez guitars.
And yes, tailpiece, bridge, tuners and pickups were changed. I just want to change them to gold to try to 'restore' it to a more natural state, because those pieces are quite rare in the market.
Thanks for the info!
