A very heartwarming story of a guitar swap that worked out well.

Great line: "The seller told me the previous owner painted the guitar white over a sunburst." Every guitar tells a story, sometimes, fiction. True or not, guys develop a bond with an instrument, and it is great to hear that he repaired it and used the guitar on recordings.
Deep in my storage locker is a black 1972 Les Paul that seems to be lightweight, from memory. It was wired as split coil, but did not sound as lively as Otis Gibbs' guitar. Need to revisit my guitar one of these days.

Thanks for posting this. I have a ‘70 routed deluxe that makes me feel the same way. So many miles. Now I am thinking about humbucker sized P-90s.
