Condition means everything, and location means a lot. You can get ballparks here and many other sites where you don't have to wait for someone to post, but nothing concrete without a lot more detail.

Hi its all original and no breaks or repairs plays great original frets that have just been stoned plays really nice price in the UK its sitting at £1400 for me but i will need to double check the serial which i dont have yet but will get it tomorrow. just making sure its not to bad a price. couple of wear patches on the headstock colour but plenty of checking but nothing really bad mark wise. the picture is the guitar. the only thing i dont know is the colour genuine? its really old finsh but did they do them in that colour?

cheers

Well, Andy, that's what I'm concerned about. Don't take this as Gospel because there are an inordinate number of much better informed people here than me, but I don't recall ever seeing an early 70's SG in tv yellow. I would have to say it's a refinish.

Likewise - and to me that doesn't look like TV Yellow. But that could just be the lighting.

And to be honest, I never saw a TV yellow finish for the 70's either.
The only colors available for the run of Specials w/ P-90's from 1961 thru 1971
were Cherry Red, Cream, White and Walnut. Unless it was ordered with a Custom Color i'd have to say that it's a refin as well.

Here's the Info:

http://everythingsg.com/index.php/special-w-p90s-.html

As for price?
Here is a listing for a good condition 71 SG Special with a price tag of $2450 which
equates to £1,535.13

I've seen cream and white that's yellowed like that. I'm pretty sure it's one of those.

It looks like it's aged to yellow with the white balance making it look a bit greenish.

Interesting. Sometimes digital photo's taken indoors mess with the colours, but it doesn't look like any old white finish that I've ever seen.
