Hi all!

ok... i want to buyan early ‘69 Les Paul Custom, i’ve beenin talk with an eBay seller for his 69 LPC, all seemed fine to me, nice man, etc...

But suddenly, but suddenly I find here in the forum some posts from 2014 talking about this seller and the shits he done......!!

What a disappointment! and what luck at the same time....

here you have the link to check the guitar, what do you think? It looks like an original one, but not all original parts? A refinish?....

Thanks!

imhop I think youd be nuts to buy a guitar like thar on Ebay,Its not a bargain, and the reality is you never know what it truly is.The obsession with vintage makes little sense.Ive owned LP{ models since 1969, and there are plenty of great playing models from later years and other sources,Yamaha sbg for example,
but Im sure you have your own motivation and reasoning. if you are looking for a player or a collector.id look elsewhere, Call Gruen guitars in Nashville, guaranteed to buy a true piece.

The headstock is so WAY over aged compared to the rest of the body plus a refret up to the last 2-3 frets..

Uh-uh....

Yea, there was somthing strange for me in the headstock... maybe headstock is “more original”, not refinished?
that's why you think it's more over aged?

Today I am going to tell him what I have read about him, to see how he reacts.
will deny it? will he be offended? How will you respond more?

place your bets...

Sorry!
I’ve been very busy this week!

well... he was very surprised with what i said, and then he said:

“There was, several years ago, a couple of guitars (I think a ‘50’s Les Paul and ‘60’s Les Paul/SG) I sold to a guy and his brother (who purported to be a guitar expert) who spent a three hours or so at my home looking at my guitars and bought two (maybe three I can’t properly remember) having inspected them thoroughly, but sometime later found fault with them and wanted a refund. I was abroad at the time, and also in and out of hospital, but the matter was resolved and they were refunded. The guitars were later sold to different people who were very pleased with them”

after that he says that this ‘69 is exactly as the first day he got her, 30 years+ ago

Well i hope she is not all original as finally i’m not gonna buy... lol

Keep googling ‘eBay seller Rockkystar scam’ and you’ll see what awful bad luck this poor guy has, endlessly and repeatedly listing bogus guitars as original over and over again, and being unfortunate enough to be dragged across the coals publicly so many times for his innocent mistakes..

This is a wee snapshot:

Something about the neck finish, headstock and binding yellowing and some other signs too seems very fishy...
