I'm shopping for a 1964 Gibson ES-335 in Red/cherry VOS non Murphy. What is odd as I'v looked at everything I can find online is the wood grain. Almost always runs parallel to strings and not the best looking. I found a genuine '64 Red and it had really nice figuring. Plus if you look at the Memphis less expensive 335's they have figuring more akin to a Les Paul. Also if you look at the 1964 reissue Bursts they too have similar figuring, albeit mild, to a Les Paul. No clue here. I'd love to buy a red but so far nada that I've found that looks that great. Anyone have any idea why these don't have better figuring only in the RED?
