Through the course of my recent trades and whatnot, I have come across this beautiful 1962 Les Paul Custom, for your viewing pleasure. Sorry about the focus on some pics, new camera. Double stamped serial number and originally purchased for $411.

Beautiful SG!

I think it's actually a 63 though. It looks to have a 6 digit serial number which started in 63 and the heel looks more like 63 than 62. That really makes little to no difference in value though so no big deal at all.... and a 63 would have a thicker neck anyways which a lot of people find to be more desirable.

Congrats on a beauty!

You are damn 16yrs old! Life is so unfair, When I was 16 I had a nice LP Studio and thanked my parents everyday for it. I'm still sorry for selling it!

Congrats anyway, looks like a great guitar!

That's a very nice guitar! Congrats!

Why do you reckon the serial is double stamped?

It just seems like a mistake to me. One of the serial numbers is stamped like the modern serials and the other one is stamped with a different thinner font. Its hard to capture.

Actually, now that I think about it, this may be the case, or it might just be something stupid. One of the numbers is 5 digits and the other is 6 digits. It could have been made at the end of 62, but shipped in 63, and a new stamp was put on to signify 63.

Clips may be coming soon if I find the time. Plays great with the new frets. The neck is comparable to a R9 neck. String are a bit high for my taste, but I'll set it up soon. its a lot of fun to play. The PAF's sound AMAZING. Nice bright and snappy. Very responsive. I understand the high prices for PAFs now!
