1961 Gibson Les Paul Special TV
Very rare 1961 Gibson Les Paul Special TV Yellow
This is a rare bird as they only made these for a short period of time in early 1961 before changing to the SG body style.
I had the guitar refinished back to it's original TV finish by Gord Miller Restoration, guitar also received a refret and is all ready to go it absolutely sounds killer.
Neck is nicer '59 profile not skinny like most 60-61 necks.
These are also unique in the position of the neck pickup which was moved away from the neck and IMO gives you a warmer tone out the neck pickup very cool move by Gibson on these.
The original TV yellow finish was present in the pickup cavities.
Gord did a fantastic job matching the color to the original it's bang one with subtle aging very nicely done.
Specs:
Neck:
1st Fret: .89
12th Fret .99
Pickups:
Neck: 8.98k
Bridge: 8.44k
- Total refin by Gord Miller Resto back to original TV Yellow
- Original Tuners
- Original Plastics (Except 1 tone knob was replaced Montreux)
- Wraparound tailpiece is a Pigtail (original or what looks to be original one is included in case)
- Original Pots and harness
- (2) Original P90 pickups (Absolutely rip!!)
- Case is old but not sure if it's original
- New 6105 Jescar Frets and new binding
Guitar weighs only 7lbs 1oz
$9k net shipped US/CAN
