Tough sell.

Tough times like tihis we are in can have huge casualties like this one, but there are more important thing to take care of.

Now, I wonder why did he opted for this? No reserve and eBay, I wonder is this will go beyond the 100k mark:hmm:

All I can say is... I'm in love. :hippie:

So how do you guys read the S/N? All the iterations I can think of don't look like the ones on Burst Serial.

Looks to me like 0 7436.

The fine text.....

Now for the reality:
The pickups ( best 2 humbuckers Ive ever had pass through my hands) are an original paf all white and an original paf 1/2 white ; but they are not original to this guitar.
One of the volume pots has been replaced.
The knobs (period correct for only 1960/1961) are not original to this guitar.
The peghead has been repaired, and its an exceptional job, done by one of America's leading restoration experts. He did also refinish the front of the peghead.
The tuners, although period correct , are not original to this guitar.
The output jack plate, although period correct, is not original to this guitar ( came off a late 50s lap steel.)
The toggle switch cap is not original.
The neck has been refretted, with correct wire, and barely played after the refret. It plays incredibly well.
The nut is probably not original.
The strap pegs, although the correct style, are not original to this guitar.
The pickup switch surround came from a 1956 goldtop.
The 5 latch case is period correct, but is not original to this instrument... Payment and shipping/delivery arrangements must be discussed at the end of this auction.

I know it's not all original but it's got undeniable mojo. I would love to own it.

Unfortunately it's ever so slightly out of my price range :naughty:

Yes, but you could say it is, just not the parts that came with her, but all parts are original to the time period.

Perhaps the list of 'non-original' parts may have been a stumbling block in past attempts to sell!?

Agree. Non original knobs, tuners, nut, strap pegs, toggle switch cap, etc....all deal breakers for me. I won't be bidding on it. All that's left original is some 1960's wood, and old wood just doesn't a guitar make.

If it is a '60!!:naughty: Perhaps they forgot to mention its Chinese:laugh2::laugh2::laugh2:

Sounds like an honest guitar with a life that shouldn't be altered for any reason other than functionality. Cool, thanks for the link.
