1959 Gibson Les Paul Special -- Ebay

This one has me puzzled:

Item number is 130570501338 and the auction will close in 2 days. There are two issues with the guitar. First the neck was re-set by the previous owner. However, it looks like most of the damage was to the neck. See the scar on the neck above the heel.



Next, the caps on this guitar are not bumblebees. Is this a concern?



There is no detailed shot of the back of the headstock, thus no serial number can be ascertained. All things considered, is the guitar fairly priced?

I've seen Astron caps in one of Tom Wittrock's 59 bursts. Gibson used these a bit in 59.

The guitar has been relisted as item 130573500438. But alas, I will be on the road, unable to bid, and sign for the package. Wifey is watching the front door like a hawk for any large packages that say G-I-B-S-O-N, or look like they have a guitar inside. At under $5K, it is tempting to click the buy button. The caps can be replaced with Bumblebees at a reasonable price, so the neck is the only real stumbling block.
