Yes...if you know about Scott Lentz he does use a veneer that is about the thickness of a greeting card. The original 3-piece plain maple top was left intact. For me, this is the guitar by which all other guitars are judged. This one set the bar very high. This guitar has beat several bursts in in-hand A/B comparisons.

It was my first conversion venture which was a complete success. This guitar came together in all the best ways possible. Under 8 lbs. totally outfitted. I don't recall what the P90's sounded like but I am not a P90's kind of player. So, bought the guitar for $1265...sold the case, trapeze tail piece, knobs, pups and harness for $1400. Conversion now has all 50's parts and a great condition 4-latch Lifton case.

Perhaps a better question is how does Vintage Guitars come up with their valuations. Anybody know where you can currently buy a minty 52 for 16k.
They are getting hard to find. In January I bought this 100% original, 8 lbs 4oz. original solder joints, parts & screws.

Scored this one last May at the Dallas Guitar show. This one had a Glazer bridge, fret & plek job.

Shes adorable! if a 1952 lp was around 9000 I would have a REALLY HARD TIME not dipping into my retirement funds no conversion for me!
