That being said, given the pricing, I'm surprised it's not being sold by Trogly nor Essex recording studios. As for the authenticity aspect of it, surely Mark Agnesi is wailing and grinding teeth as usual.

This one actually looks quite legit? Body shape seems fine, knob placement is good, bridge and tailpiece placement is fine, headstock has wings. Inlays and price are crazy, but I'm leaning towards this one being real

Edit: Had a chance to look at it on a bigger screen, definitely think it's real

the inlays are abalone, that's not uncommon. The 2000's elegant's came with them...though an ebony board was more common.

Don't think so! Elegant wouldn't have the R9 serial number, the Les Paul silk screen would be lower (like the USA models), it would have a Nashville bridge and an ebony fingerboard. This looks like a standard R9 with abalone inlays, maybe a custom order?

....that or someone installed them later,.... it is a 2006 afterall,.... a lot of shit can happen after all those years.

Real or not, it's a snooze. And I'm always surprised that anyone thinks quilt is some kind of special figure. Like spalt, I get it that it's eye-catching, but I don't see how it enhances the actual carve and form the way plaintops or flame or even flitch matching will do.
