So I have decided to list a few items and combine them all into one thread. As many of you know in the past year my parents have become extremely ill and I have to move back to the US. In the last year and a half my father has had a heart valve replaced and then they discovered he had terminal cancer; it had begun in his prostate, spread through his nodes, and is now in his bones and spine. Then in the last few months my mother's heart stopped. She was dead for around 7 minutes before she was revived. It was a miracle but there is a lot of damage and my brother cannot care for them by himself. I rushed home a few weeks back when it looked like she wasn't going to make it. Now my wife and I will be moving back for, the doctors tell me best case for either parent, three years or so. While I already have a house close to my parents I still have bills and living expenses. My wife and I also plan to finish grad school while we are there. Between my parents having, at minimum, four doctors appointments per week and school there is no way for us to have any type of decent paying jobs. So here we are....
Please do not post the stupid "oooh Japan, must be irradiated and flooded" comments since that just makes you look like a dumb ass who doesn't know what they are talking about.

2007 R8 ( Jamie Leigh)

Jamie Leigh has to be one of the best documented guitars on this forum. I have done extensive pickup reviews using this guitar. There are so many sound clips( link below) that you know exactly what you will get.
- Washed Cherry Sunburst
- in the low 9lb range ( I think... I don't have a scale)
- COA, all case candy, and OHSC
- OTPG PAF'S in double white( impossible to find and if you do insanely
expensive (approx. $1.5k on ebay)! avoid the hassle and get one of the
best documented sets in the world!!! These have been verified by the
winder!!)
- CTS pots, Sprague Hyrell PIO caps from Jonesy, vintage wiring
- Tonepros Locking ABR-1 w/ steel mounting screws
- Montreux plastics from Gord Miller except tuner tips, back plates, and truss
rod cover
- small mark on the back near the control cavity where the soldering iron
touched it. looks like a ripple and isn't through finish.

2001 R6 w/ 1953 P90's

This guitar is my workhorse. She is a powerhouse. She has been played and played and beat to death on stage but she is still all there and amazing. Super light and one of the best neck carves ever on a reissue.

- Goldtop
- high 8lb range (lighter than my tele!!!)
- Gibson USA case w/ pink shroud... this is the case that came with it. Has
something painted on it???
- P90's from TheBeautyoftheBurst's 1953 Les Paul (he made it into a
conversion and $1k later the pups were mine) They are amazing. Pure
vintage awesome!!!
- CTS Pots, Sprague Hyrel PIO Caps from Jonesy, vintage wiring
- Montreux plastics from Gord Miller except P90 covers( those are the
originals), tuner tips, and truss rod cover
- had a neck break repaired by BCRGreg ( the best in the world... period!)
- has had a bigsby on and off again... bigsby is long gone now!
- refretted with larger frets ( not jumbos but bigger than what comes on RI's)
- bone nut
- rub wear on the lower bout (backside)
- play wear and finish checking (that's right!!! real aging!!!)

Phaez Rising Sun Amp

Randy custom designed this for me about a year and a half ago. It is basically the perfect tweed style amp. Comes without a headshell since that's how I got it and I already sold the shell to my friend Shin;P

- approx. 15 watts ( a very very loud 15 watts)
- 6v6 tweed based design
- Volume, Tone ( turn left and it brings in bass, center in bypassed, and
turned right it brings in more highs.... lots of tones on tap here folks!), Bass
Cut ( keep the bass nice and tight when cranked!), and a Master that is
bypassed when cranked.
- Somewhere between a 5f1 and 5E3... amazing tough drive that cleans up
superbly. Randy's amps are know for their tone and sensitivity... find out
why!!!

Yes, I'm planning to do some close comparisons. I have nothing against Gibson except the high prices, and this R8 has some unique pickups and amazing resonance. So far it matches up to the best of the MIJ's I have as I would expect from a good Gibson.
