I decided to take my pup to work since it’s the weekend.
She is my youngest Heeler (Australian cattle dog) and not quite a year old.

She just follows the others and isn’t getting enough socialization.
She’s happy to run with the pack, but on her own she is a bit of a wallflower.
I want her to be able to think for herself.

Anyway, one of her favorite tricks when I’m driving is to lay her head on my shoulder.
It was too adorable not to snap a pic.

Here's my Lucy and Dakota. Dakota is the black and white (big spoon). Both are Street Rescues.

My wife thinks Lucy's name comes from "Everybody Loves Lucy" but Lucy is short for Lucille (the guitar). Shhhhh!

I lost my best girl...Juicey....June 8th 2020....peak Covid.

The vet assistant accidentally killed her during a blood draw for low platelets.....it was literally the saddest 24 hours of my life...
(story for another thread)

She was my best friend, losing her in such a terrible manner cut me extra deep ...thats why I didn't post about it here.....

She was only 12.

I feel like the big guy upstairs felt my pain.......and sent me a lifeline.

The winter after Juicey died...Dax showed up at my front door.....15-20 degrees outside, he stayed on our porch for days.....cold and hungry.

One night when it was snowing I caved.....brought him in and fed him.

There's a story behind it .....but he's been here ever since......

In short we kinda stole him (feeding someone elses cat) .....yet we're now friends with his original owner.....

Dax is my best buddy now.

I still miss my little Juicey girl...very much......but Dax is an awesome dude as well.....
