I mentioned this in my Tele refin thread, but wanted to share it with the Fender fans here as well.
I got this in from Sweetwater a couple of weeks ago. I actually ordered it quite a while ago, but had to wait for it to be built.
Even though I have a general mild aversion to red guitars (I do...
Maybe it's me - but the new version of Washed Cherry Sunburst 1958 reissue seems to be sitting with me the wrong way. I have two washed cherry R8's but the hue of these new 2019's has a weird Red Orangey Yellow - not vibrant looking red to it. Maybe it's the photo - but Wildwood usually takes...
Looks like our new forum member Mat & Custom Shop specialist talked with "GUITAR" more in depth about the 60th anniversary 1959 Les Paul Reissue. Owning 2 R8 reissues - it will be interesting to see how the unpotted custom buckers sound next to the one's we are familiar with and if the new...
I've gone a little Strat crazy lately and have decided to sell my Custom Shop '57 Strat, which I just purchased from Sweetwater to go after a Rosewood fretboard '60s version (already pre-ordered). This guitar is just as it left the dealer. No issues whatsoever. I didn't list it as mint as it...
Just noticed something in a new video posted today on an original 59 burst and my mind started to wonder?
I have not played a original burst so I can't speak to it - but I have played several current reissues.
Did the original ABR bridges have insert posts? If you watch this video from Emerald...
Up for sale is a 2005 Fender Custom Shop '60 Reissue Stratocaster in Daphne Blue NOS finish that has greened slightly with age. This particular model features factory gold hardware, which looks fantastic with the finish.
It's in excellent condition, with the plastic still on the pickguard...
Please show me your Classics. 90s, 2000s, but only 1960s RIs, so not the new Classics. :-)
Especially Honeybursts and Vintage Sunbursts would be awesome. I would like to see the finish differences over the years.

I received a mailer, earlier this year with a signature Custom Shop R7 (I think) Gold Top. Dude that plays in SNL band. Gorgeous guitar. They wanted like $2,000 over R* prices for that guitar. Hell, they want more than I paid for my '57 Black Beauty (used, but still). On a COLD DAY IN...
Let me know what your guys’ favourite combination is.:run: I thought I’d share what a perfect combo this is:
- 1957 Gibson True Historic Goldtop (2016)
- 1957 Fender Bandmaster Reissue (2016)
With no pedals (apart from a basic reverb through the front).
Looking at a R4 that I may pull the trigger on here this week.
To any R4 owners or experts out there, is there anything I should know before getting an R4? I know it has the single bridge. Is it difficult to play because of that? Got any quirks? You guys satisfied with yours?
This stunning blonde is in excellent condition and has wonderful tone. The VOS treatment gives it a beautiful golden patina and a slightly aged appearance.
- Full, but not too big, '59 neck with a comfortable rounded C profile and rolled fretboard binding
- Memphis Historic Spec humbuckers...
I just made a major purchase and need to unload a few things to cover it, so you're going to be seeing quite a bit of me.
I got this V from @jeggz here on the forum a couple of years ago and it's a super resonant and light guitar featuring a mahogany body and neck. It plays and sounds...
