Hey, how thick was the lead sheet you used to tame the reverb feedback on your Princeton? I'm looking at 1/32" and 1/16".

    magnetically shielding reverb tank?

I know it's been 6 years, but I'm gonna go ahead and do this. What thickness of lead sheet did you use to remedy your Princeton Reverb?

Wampler Black '65 - opinions and feelings?

Thanks kboman. I think I'll give this a pedal a shot. I've gradually gotten away from the more refined distortion sounds of Marshall, Soldano, Mesa Boogie, etc. There's something primal and ungroomed about a cranked Fender that does it for me, on top of the gorgeous cleans. Basically, I just...

    Peter Green sound

Or to make things even more complicated, come up with a wiring in the guitar to vary the phase between fully in and fully out with a pot (without the need for 2 pickups out-of-phase of eachother). What you need are 2 signals (parallel) going to the output jack, with a pot to vary the phase...

EHX Soul Food w/ adapter & Dunlop JH-2S Hendrix Fuzz

Soul Food is sold Hendrix Fuzz has the good germanium transistors, nicely matched. I've got her biased just right. Great fuzz face in the form of an MXR-sized pedal.

    Peter Green sound

I like being mischievous ;) The old Music Man amps with built-in phaser had a pull-out knob that you can freeze the tone while it's in the middle of the sweep. When the sweep was completely out of phase, pull out the knob and voila. That'd be cool if that was available in a pedal form. Slightly...

    Peter Green sound

I prefer the out of phase pickups, but I've heard a pretty convincing PG nasal sound with the Dunlop Q Zone pedal. Pretty much the cocked-wah sound.

Wampler Black '65 - opinions and feelings?

Thanks, Storm. If this pedal can get me the sound of my Twin on 10 without changing the character of the amp or the feel, I'm gonna give it a try. For reference, here's an example of what I'm talking about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=abg4CQgCyD0 From clean to dirty and everything...

Which amp brand best compliments a Fender Strat.

My absolute favorite amp for strats: Fender Prosonic 2x10 combo. Makes single coil strats sound fat, articulate, punchy, and dynamic all at the same time. Gain channel will make your strat scream - no pedals needed. The bridge pickup in a strat actually sounds musical (not wimpy) on it.

No weight relief and no nibs - which year Les Paul Traditional?

There's also the tribute Epiphone LPs with the real maple tops. Larry Corsa is a little more than an hour north of me. I could ask him if he'd build me an LP with no weight relief. Less labor for him. He can keep his pickups too.

No weight relief and no nibs - which year Les Paul Traditional?

Hmm, that does look nice though. I don't hate the slim 60's neck, but the fatter neck is just perfect for me. I'm not crazy about the banner inlay at the 12th fret though. Haha, there's always something... Looks like my best bet would be to get a 2013 Caramel Burst refretted.

Wampler Black '65 - opinions and feelings?

I'd like to hear anybody's experience with the Wampler Black '65 pedal. Especially if you play a Les Paul into a high wattage Fender (Twin Reverb, Showman, Dual Showman, etc). I'm a very touch sensitive player and like to clean up with the volume knob. Can I get Peter Green/Mike Bloomfield lead...

No weight relief and no nibs - which year Les Paul Traditional?

I think the nibs look nice and all, but if the frets aren't perfectly level with them or there's even the tiniest gap, I find the high e string gets caught in between. Especially during pull offs and wide vibratos. I don't know if it's because of Gibson's fretwork or due to humidity causing the...

No weight relief and no nibs - which year Les Paul Traditional?

Hmm, not sure if I dig the "zero fret" nut, robot tuners, and the "Les Paul 100" on the headstock. And they seem to have gotten rid of the caramel burst finish - that color was gorgeous. Although the tobacco burst looks cool, kinda like Duane Allman's "Hot Lanta".

Thanks guys. Did the 2015 have the fat 50's neck as well?

No weight relief and no nibs - which year Les Paul Traditional?

If I'm not mistaken, there was a year (or two) in which Gibson made the LP Traditional with no weight relief and no fret nibs. Which year was it? Getting confused with the research because a lot of sources are stating the same specs regardless of year. Thanks

    Rewiring a 335 - any advice?

The manufacturer usually lists it in the specs. Whether it's aftermarket or a stock factory pickup. Changing from A2 to A3 will lessen the mids and bump up treble. A little less output too. A3 is interesting because it behaves different from the other alnicos. From my experience, it seems to...
