NAD: "JTM and Beyond" Marshall clone

I stopped into a shop in my hometown the weekend before last to browse around when I saw what appeared to be a Marshall JTM-45 in a 100 watt size head cab. Intrigued, I asked the guys working there 'what's up with that JTM-45?' They proceeded to inform me that it was one of three prototype...

    WTB: Vox Pathfinder 15R

Due to a recent split, I no longer own my Pathfinder amp. They are one of my favorite home practice amps and I would very much love to purchase a new one. Must be the 15R version with built in reverb. If anyone has one they are looking to sell, please let me know. Thanks.

1977 Greco EG-600P Frampton Triple Humbucker Custom

I haven't had a chance to weigh it yet. But I have a Burny Les Paul Custom that weighs 9.2 lbs. and this one is just a little lighter. I'd estimate between 8 and 8.5. The neck is 60's slim taper unlike the aforementioned Burny, which has a chunky 50's-style neck.

1977 Greco EG-600P Frampton Triple Humbucker Custom

This is a Greco EG-600P that dates to November of 1977, built with pride in Japan and modeled after Peter Frampton's famous triple humbucker black Les Paul Custom. The body is chambered mahogany with a sycamore top. Maple neck with volute, rosewood fretboard. The neck and middle pickups are the...

    Post your 2 favorite amps

My number one is this Ceriatone Plexi 100 Super Lead clone. It's the more aggressive sounding 1973 circuit. Fully handwired, with a post-phase inverter master volume added by Nik. I've played a lot of both vintage and modern Marshalls in my life and this one rules them all. Number two spot goes...

    Bought this "Bumblebee" partscaster yesterday

I didn't realize how involved of a process it was. Yeah, forget that. This guitar is too much fun to risk screwing it up. If I ever really need a Floyd Rose I'll find a single humbucker Strat that already has one. One question: I noticed that this Strat has four springs on the tremolo...

    Bought this "Bumblebee" partscaster yesterday

Oh, it's absolutely getting a Floyd Rose eventually! It's just not high on the priority list right now as this was kind of a whim purchase. Just something different than the multiple Les Pauls and Teles I already have.

    Bought this "Bumblebee" partscaster yesterday

Somebody was obviously a Van Halen fan. I traded some stuff to Music Go Round yesterday and walked out with this. Unknown make Strat body, Fender MIM Strat neck, Seymour Duncan JB humbucker. It's a ton of fun to play and the JB, which I've never tried before, sounds great.

Tell me about the Super Distortion humbucker

I'm using a Ceriatone Plexi 100 (mine is the '73 circuit) with added master volume. The SD does seem to be a really good fit for that amp. I also found an actual Dimarzio Super Distortion (newer one) used for cheap at a local shop, so I had that one installed into the bridge position of my '77...

Tell me about the Super Distortion humbucker

Well, I did it. I was really enjoying the Manlius Hot Rod 59, but my curiosity got the best of me and I purchased one of Mick's 70's Super D pickups. While I've only had a few hours of playing with it so far, I have to say I'm really liking it. It's definitely a different animal than the PAF...

NPD: Manlius Hot Rod 59/Landmark PAF set

Yeah they're still very much in PAF territory, but with the perfect amount of extra push compared to the Landmark or the Fat Diane. Truth be told, and this is no slag to the HR59, but I might prefer the Fat Diane ever so slightly, which is still a little hot but seems to have better string...

NPD: Manlius Hot Rod 59/Landmark PAF set

After much back and forth with whether to swap out the stock VH-3 humbuckers in my Burny Les Paul Custom, and which ones to choose if I did decide to swap, I ended up with a Hot Rod 59 bridge and a Landmark PAF neck from Manlius. Mick was super helpful and patient with my numerous questions and...
