    Les Paul Tribute vs epiphones

Thanks! Unfortunately had to return it already. I contacted a bunch of guitar stores in my area who all confirm to be getting a shipping of 59 epiphones in the next month or two, so worst case if I made a mistake, ill just sell the gibson and buy the epiphone again haha. So can't do side by...

    Les Paul Tribute vs epiphones

From what i understand the burstbucker and the 490s are similar voiced pickups. I've tested both now through my marshal origin amp and both have a very similar growl to them, the burstbuckers might have a little more clarity, but the 490s are no slouch. I'm very impressed with the gibson...

    Les Paul Tribute vs epiphones

Yeah sorry guys, I guess my main point was is the tribute as good as a higher end epiphone in general, I used the 59 as that is the exact same price as a used gibson tribute. Sorry for beating a dead horse here... And I know they are very different... but at the same time they are both les...

    Les Paul Tribute vs epiphones

Thank you so much for this input. I have a nitro finish on my tele (although its road worn, so its intentially aged) but it feels great. Just a way more natural feel. I'm going to try the gibson out today hopefully, so I can make my decision when I try it.

    Les Paul Tribute vs epiphones

The main thing is being epiphone. I was trying to sell a higher end 2020 squier, I had so many people telling me "its a Squier, they are garbage, its worth peanuts"... meanwhile it was a better guitar than my fender MIM which I sold for nearly as much as I bought it for brand new.

I think my brain keeps saying "if you're spending all this money, just get the gibson"

    Les Paul Tribute vs epiphones

Thank you all so much. I dont think im the only one who debates the lowest model of a gibson/fender vs the highest model of a epiphone/squier. Essentially I think either way is a win. We are truly living in the golden era of cheap guitars. Everyone online LOVES the tribute. Everyone online...

    Les Paul Tribute vs epiphones

I feel like the epiphone is on par, if not better than the gibson, and the pickups seem nearly identical from what I've heard online. I think its the gibson allure... As for resale, the gibson is used, so a lot cheaper than the retail price (1800 after taxes here in Canada) whereas the epiphone...

    Les Paul Tribute vs epiphones

Thats a great answer, thanks man. I do love the satin/thin finishes way better than the high gloss poly. I have a fender road worn tele with a similar thin nitro and I love the feel. I think I will love the feel of the tribute, and I will for sure try it out before I buy

    Les Paul Tribute vs epiphones

Sorry if this has been debated to death already, but I have the opportunity to get a year old tribute for about $50 canadian more than a brand new epi 59 les paul. I know... different guitars... but im sort of a gibson newbie and want to know if the lowest gibsons les paul is better than the...

Epiphone '59 Les Paul Standard Owners Club

Yeah according to 3 different guitar stores I contacted, shipments will be arriving end of February/early March here in Canada. I have no idea how many they will get though, so they might still end up being hard to get this year. Yeah I assumed it was a return, but literally everything was...

Epiphone '59 Les Paul Standard Owners Club

Unexpected new owner over here from Canada! I started the week debating between the LP 50s goldtop, and the ES 335 figured blueberry burst. Sold my strat and wanted a beefier guitar. The 335 was sold out everywhere near me, and due to covid I couldn't really go into the guitar shop and try a...
