New les paul. Tough decision, need help

I did get a guitar with a Medium C neck, which is smaller than the 50's neck on the Goldtop you're looking at. Eventually, I just could not get along with it and got a couple of other Slim Taper neck guitars, they feel/play so much better in my hands. I have had two Medium C neck guitars which...

How Do You Insure Your Guitar Collection?

You have a serious problem my friend, also you are very rude and sarcastic. I spoke to State Farm a long time ago when I moved to California and was first renting. They said if I had pictures and receipts, I was covered as long as my loss did not exceed the value I had specified for my...

How Do You Insure Your Guitar Collection?

It is the correct answer for me, because my guitars don't leave home. If I had a guitar worth more than 1.5k to 2k current value stolen then I could be in trouble to get all my money back. I can get a Personal Articles Policy and then I can be covered for more as well as the Policy travels...

How Do You Insure Your Guitar Collection?

You pay only $200 a year, that is not horrible for 100k of stuff. :yesway: :)

How Do You Insure Your Guitar Collection?

I got rid of my 2.5k to 5k guitars just this past year. I found some nice 2020-2021 Epiphones to replace them and they feel/play great. I still have a couple of inexpensive Gibson's that have a special place in my heart and I won't get rid of those. But... for the most part, I only have...

How Do You Insure Your Guitar Collection?

If you are a working musician, then you need extra insurance, the instruments are your trade and your life and you need extra insurance that covers them for while you are at gigs and such as well as travel in planes or buses. But... for us home players, I have State Farm Insurance and...

    The PAF sound?

I think the 57/57+ Classic Pups capture that true PAF better than most newer pickups. There are a lot around like the Seymour Duncan SH59's, they get a nice PAF tone which is very clear and beefy.

How loud are you guys running your amps?

I have a 15w Blackheart Handsome Devil 2x12 setup and I run my volume and drive at 3, which is plenty loud enough to get a really nice tone from it.

    New LP 60s question

Send it back and get another, unless it feels/plays/sounds amazing to you. It is all part of the bonding process, if the guitar doesn't feel/look right to you, send it back and try again.

How are the new Studios? Better than the Tributes?

Yep, that is what mine has, the Antiquity II mini humbuckers, very nice pickups.

How are the new Studios? Better than the Tributes?

If you want a full featured Gibson Les Paul with a little bit thicker body which can give it a little bit beefier tone, go with the Les Paul Classic. If you want an even beefier tone, you can go with the Les Paul Custom that comes with the 490R/498T pickup combination and the Customs start to...

How are the new Studios? Better than the Tributes?

Yep, love the 60's Tribute. I took out the P90's and put in some Mini Humbuckers. Love this guitar, it feels/plays/sounds great.

    Interesting! The Gibson Mod Collection

I got this Gibson Les Paul 60's Tribute in excellent condition for $600 off of Craigslist, it is outstanding. I did not like the way it sounded with the P90's, so I changed it just the way I liked it. Some of you may think it looks like crap now, but I love it. The younger generation can do...

    Interesting! The Gibson Mod Collection

Also... something I just found out from my Guy at Sweetwater. The Mod line up of guitars are pretty much 1 off builds, so once they're gone, they're gone. They also have minor defects or flaws, which are sold as is and are not covered under the limited warranty. Maybe they are testing the...

    Interesting! The Gibson Mod Collection

I really don't think Gibson is anywhere near driving away customers, those particular customers do not like the Gibson Line Up of Guitars and that is fine, there are plenty of other guitar companies making guitars for those types of Customers. There is a saying that is as true today as much as...

    Interesting! The Gibson Mod Collection

You know when you were younger, most have no idea what they want or need. And the ones that do, change that plan a dozen times over. You can't create for the younger crowd until they know what they want. So give it 10-15 years when they can afford to live on there own and maybe... just maybe...
