@heartburn: details on the "quick hand polish" please! Any orange peel afterwards? I'm still on the fence on getting just a little semigloss to the top of my cherry burst, so am assembling as many options as possible.

Thanks for the link, @USTTRM, I kinda see what the gloss level is like in the video but its difficult to really appreciate. if you ever take close-up stills of that top, I'd love to see that!

I'm closely following these polishing posts, as what I am after is best described as 'semi-gloss' -- don't want the high polish gloss, but just knock off a little of that rough satin finish. Anyone successfully done that? Pics appreciated!!

    Epi 2020 Crestwood Custom?

Anyone put their hands on one of these? Rare as hen's teeth in stores around here & I'm still hesitant about in-store demoing. Wondering particularly about the mini-HBs, neck profile, & "Tremotone" stability.

    Epiphone Stock Strings?

10-46s came stock on my Epi '59. I usually play 11-50s, but will likely stick with 10-46 (or maybe D'Addario hybrid 10.5 - 48s).

Yes, a nice low gloss -- what polish did you use?

Anyone else who's gone this route??

Thoughts on the Obsidian wire harness??

Given the advertised prices, this should be enough motivation to buy some pots and a decent soldering iron to start DIY. It’s not rocket science in that control cavity... Soldering should be a basic life skill for a guitarist.

Who's polished their Epi 1959?? Good, Bad or Ugly??

Nice, Brek! Looks like low lustre vs. glossy. What did you use on it??

Who's polished their Epi 1959?? Good, Bad or Ugly??

There's a few random posts scattered in those massive threads, so thought this might be a place to consolidate the topic. I'm 50:50 on the stock matte/faded VOS finish on my Dark Aged Cheery Burst '59, and had thought a little about taking it into a semi-gloss state closer to the Gibson VOS...

    Snap, it broke

No need to buy a replacement bridge!! Get a remnant of an unwound string (.020 - .023), some good needle nose pliers, a string cutter, some patience and DIY! I've done it successfully numerous times. FWIW, you can cure spring rattle with a very small dab of clear nail polish along the bridge...

Anyone else notice how 'tight' the bridge pickup is when trying to adjust/level it? It feels as if the sides are touchingf/binding a bit with the routing walls? Time to take a look under the hood...

So, has anyone got a realistic idea of how limited the the production run is for the ‘59s?? I recall something about n=1959.

    New 2021 335/339 headstock vs pre-2021 difference(s)?

I have a 2018 339 Pro, and was wondering how different the neck profile and headstock shape are compared to the new 2021s. Anyone got a pic showing the headstocks side-by-side? I gather that the 335/339 neck profile have changed to slightly chunkier, but none locally to check out.

Congrats Anthony8801!! The '59s are still as rare as hen's teeth here in Canada. The humidifier pack is definitely not part of the original packaging. Could be a return; FWIW some folks (like me) love the neck profile while others don't. Same with the weight, depends on personal preference...
