    Lockdown Blues

I recorded this quite recently using the Kemper and my own Marshall JCM2000 TSL profiles. It was great fun to put together as I had two amazing musicians to contribute to what is a fairly simple "bluesy" track. The Leslie for the Hammond was fed into a power attenuator to drop the level so that...

Can the Kemper respond like an amp? I'd say definitely

The main profile that was used for the first part was my Marshall JCM2000/Drivemaster amp/pedal combination. It is available as a free download from my website www.peterhanmer.co.za

Can the Kemper respond like an amp? I'd say definitely

We recorded this song about two weeks ago. I used my Kemper rack for the guitars and was pleasantly surprised when I was able to use it literally the same way I use an amp. I found that with the right profile I was able to back off to get a perfectly clean tone and then by turning the guitar...

Interesting Gig - My take on a Santana song with the Kemper

My take on a Santana song – Life is a Lady I’ve done some very interesting gigs over the years but the one I did this past Sunday was something that was quite new to me. I played straight into an extremely high end Hi FI system at HFX Systems for a few of their special clients. The audio was...

Let's hear your playing through your rig

Thanks for your comments, Liam! I'm glad that you enjoyed it. Regarding the synth sounds, I did list out the synths in the beginning of the video. I created my profiles from my Marshall JCM2000 TSL combo. I set the amp to the clean channel and then in conjunction with my favourite pedals (MI...

Let's hear your playing through your rig

This has been one of the most enjoyable and rewarding things that I’ve done musically (for myself) during this lockdown period. Larry (drummer) and I had a lot of fun recording this. The track forms part of my next solo album which I’m busy with at the moment. I used the Kemper for all the...

Just a little fun... Remixed track from the late 90's - Replaced Gtrs with Kemper

Thanks for the comments, Liam. Yes, the Kemper parts were really easy to mix! Cheers.

Just a little fun... Remixed track from the late 90's - Replaced Gtrs with Kemper

The Pod tracks have a "plasticy " nasal sound to them that I remember back in the day was very difficult to eq out. For me the Kemper tracks sound far more natural and thats mainly because they're profiles of an actual live rig. Thanks for listening.

Just a little fun... Remixed track from the late 90's - Replaced Gtrs with Kemper

Digital modelling has certainly come a long way since the first Pod Bean. Our band recorded a track in the late 90’s using a POD2 and I remember being pretty happy with the results. The band is Off the Edge and the song is entitled "Just Another Band". During this Covid lockdown I’ve had a bit...

Anyone looking for a really tight Marshall Crunch Profile?

I made this really tight Marshall Crunch Profile using an old Marshall Drivemaster pedal and my Marshall TSL602 amp. It's available as a free download on my website (see signature below). The profile responds really nicely to the gain control on the Kemper. By adding a little gain the tone...

    My Kemper/Amp comparison part 2

I put this clip together to demonstrate a comparison between the captured profile of my live rig and the actual tone using an SM57, an MI Audio Crunch Box and a Marshall JCM2000 TSL. I initially posted this with two Soundcloud clips but I think that switching between the two sources in a...

    The Kemper Profiler Thread

Thanks for the comment. I did get the return level was too high error but I just reduced it slightly and it was fine. I've profiled my entire pedalboard into my Marshall and it worked out fantastically. I now have my entire live rig in my Kemper. It even feels the same as playing through the amp.

    The Kemper Profiler Thread

I’ve wanted to do this for a while now but just didn’t have the time. I made a profile for my Kemper of my live rig about a month ago and recorded a few clips to demo the profiles. I decided to record the same clip using the actual live rig setup and make a comparison with the recorded Kemper...

Four short clips demoing my own Kemper profiles of my live rig.

Thank you NotScott, They all come from my Profile Pack and I've applied a subtle EQ to the profiles for that exact reason. I've removed any "nasal" frequencies as well as those frequencies that seem to "slice ears" as you say. I didn't apply any post EQ in the recordings. That's exactly what...

    The Kemper Profiler Thread

I'm not a metal player but I did make a profile of one of the Hi Gain pedals on my board - the Megalith Delta. I recorded a clip of the setup and I was astounded at the result. There is a point just over halfway through the clip where I backed off on the guitar and the Kemper responded...

I've just released a Profile Pack of my live rig - Free profile included

I posted a few clips of my Kemper profiles of my live rig a week or two ago. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post this here. If not I apologise up front and moderators feel free to delelte. The profile pack consists of 14 profiles and includes profiles of the amp (Marshall JCM2000 Clean...
