I need the cheapest blank TRC out there

Where can I find the blank bell for cheap? I don’t want to spend much at all. Thanks.

    Other Guitar fora out there?

I like to visit specific places like MLP for the expertise, but find myself spending more time in places where there is abundant discussion over the various categories of gear (guitar/amps/etc). Harmony Central did the trick during the “myspace age” but shriveled away for whatever reason where...

    1990s Studio Pup Question

Just sorting through what looks like something between a major hassle and a moderate nightmare for an online purchase (possibly another thread) pulled the pups. Bridge: Patent 237842 (I suspect checks out as 498T) Neck: completely blank, no stamp and pole pieced appear different (“cleaner” if...

Pulled the trigger on a Studio SB... any concerns?

Just bought online. I don’t have very good luck buying LPs on ebay, so I hope this breaks the cycle. 01273xxxx is disclosed S/N.

    ISO - 2015 Gibson Flying V

Looking for a cheap substitute for a norlin-feel V. ‘15 Anniversary and Japan market are what I had in mind, but if you have a 70s V.O.S., long shot but who knows?

    Classic Marshall NAD

Grabbed this one last night from the original owner. 100% original, 95% unmolested (bias resistor piggybacked to convert from 6550s to EL34s) the cab is loaded with original G12H black backs. Above is a shot of the piggybacked resistor. Some gut shots. Here...

    Transitional question

This is inspired by a non-LP, but applicable to all Gibsons (including LPs) I bought an early '75 Flying V, with what appear to be original '74 CTS pots but unoriginal knobs. The neck pickup is the typical "stamped" PAF of that era, but the bridge is a "Decal" PAF. The books disclose Early...

    NGD - '75 Flying V

Guess we know what this is going to be... Can you smell the vintage? It (and the axe reeks of my Grandmother's basement when I was a child). V-man's early '75 Flying V. These are known as the "Second Reissue". First came the '58s, which numbered fewer than 100 in the '58-'59 years...

    What do you think?

The $799 Midtown P-90 arrived today. There is a "flame" line under the neck P-90. I am wondering whether it will drive me crazy or not. I had initially considered a pickguard. Now I am wondering whether it would be mandatory or too much with that flame mark. Opinions?

Got to play a Jeff Tweedy SG today

Beautiful guitar, but yeccch. Maybe it could have used a setup, but it was not holding tune for anything. Also, the vibrola's arm would only swing freely with the pickup selector at the bridge position. Any other position and it would bang into the switch.

    WTB: Flying V(s)

    - 1958-1970 Medallion (pipe dream, really) - 1975-1980 "Second Reissues" - 1988-1990 V90/V90 Doubles - 2000-2002 Historic I'm pretty much covered otherwise, though I'm game to take a look at any stringthrough '58 style.

    Richlite yes, but ebony?

Ebony may be a thing of the past on Gibsons, but does anybody know if the custom shop will put an ebony board on your LP, or is that a thing of the past as well? Yeah, I know I can get it done elsewhere, but I have my eye in a rare production line with a hideous rosewood board. Having Gibson...

Neck profile on a '93 Custom?

I was wondering what the proflie is for these. The newer Customs I have picked up a chunky squarish feel to them that I would identify along the lines of '50s. Anybody know what it was like in the early 90s? I'm actually hoping for a neck that is not as chunky but not flat either.

    Wiring harness...

I know there are Ebay guitar slaughterhouses (buy guitar for $X, part it out for $3X) that sell the full harness: pots, wire, pup switch tip & assemly. I was wondering with all the LP specialization if anybody makes quality V/V/T ones for Flying Vs/Explorers. I have an old 57 Classic/BB2 V...

The Flying V Neck... (yes, this is a LP question)

From the Gibson website: No guitar neck profiles are more distinguishable than the neck profiles employed on the Gibson models of today. The more traditional ’50s neck profile is the thicker, more rounded contour, emulating the neck shapes of Gibson’s iconic models of the late 1950s. The ’60s...

    Which LP(s) Should *I* Consider

Hello all, As you gathered by the screen name, I am a dedicated V guy. My knowledge of LPs, is about a handful of scattered factoids above clueless. As I am interested in looking at LPs, It seems the prohibitive cost of them these days indicates I better know what works for me and get it right...

    Hello MLP, introductory question

Nice to meet you all (those of you who don't know me from the other guitar fora). As the name reveals, I'm more partial to other Gibsons these days, but am considering my first LP. Now, I realize that for playing purposes, these guitars are not to be judged like a wine (if '72 was a good year...
