I've searched the forum and there does not appear to be a definitive fix, aside from replacing the bridge... I am very nearly joining my bridge in having a screw loose over this guitar...

Just something about the alnico v that would either break up too much or too little...
I ended up with the pickups so low they nearly fell back into the body :-P... The bridge 61 caused me all kinds of misery trying for a tone that just could not be coaxed from it... The original recipe...
I drove myself nuts going up and down on pickup height. Maybe they sound better with 9's?
I don't feel like putting them back in to find out, but $215 and shipping you can! ;)
Could be that the amplifier made it sound that way... I was just absolutely unable to get the clear but dirty sound Duane had from his Marshall from the stock setup and it was hugely disappointing for me.
