I don’t really have a dog in the fight anymore but I’m opinionated and hate seeing people get tricked
It gets to a point of being ridiculous when someone uses mental illness or other issues flippantly and compulsively lie to get pity and have people send you things etc and give genuine care...
It’s a lot of fun on the farm but it’s definitely hard work, and the animals don’t care what the weather is like or how bad you feel. I’ve had to drag myself outside cursing the whole way many times
we bought rolls of the 2x2 goat wire fencing that is 5 ft high at minimum and wrapped wire around the gates as well. They’ll jump if it’s too low , but in the summer when it’s hot they get itchy and will rub and push on the fence so it needs to be sturdy . I haven’t had an issue with our current...
we might branch into meat goats later on. There is a good market for all goats .Any time I sell any I get multiple responses within minutes . I’ve got a lady who is supposed to be coming today to buy a few wethers from me. Since we are keeping these kids we have to make some room.
There are some goat people who bring them inside and put them in diapers and onesies and call them domesticated lol......That's a bit extreme for me. My kids are inside right now because it's cold, but they'll be going outside in the heated barn in a few more weeks when they've gotten a little...
A few goats can clear a field surprisingly fast. We built our second pasture along a brushy fence line that has been overgrown for years and they had it cleared up in a few weeks.
It really is........I don't like having to pull them from mom and bottle feed, but we just had bad luck this year so far, it happens sometimes. The kids are doing great though. Bottle babies are usually extra sweet, if not a little bit too needy lol.
A few of my dairy goats had kids last week but unfortunately things did not go as planned. Miss Nova had one giant baby instead of two regular sized babies , and after a harrowing few hours we rushed to the vet for an emergency csection where miss Sunday was born
The next day my Lamancha doe...
It's definitely a fun age...everything is an adventure to her! We are looking forward to Christmas, she is more excited about it this year than last year when she had no understanding of what's going on. She still doesn't totally get it, but at least this year she knows something is happening...
We had a beautiful day yesterday and spent some time playing outside. She's learning how to wear shoes right now (hates them lol) and I just had to snap some pictures. She looks more grown up every day!
I used to hate winter and cold until I had a baby and now I just can’t tolerate heat anymore so I am loving the winter weather.
currently I’m expecting several of my doe milk goats to kid so I guess raising goat babies is one of my fav winter activities right now
Just here because I was brought up. I don’t have any desire to attack anybody. I am just a proud mama showing off my greatest gift to the friends I still have here. Nothing more.
