No, this is a new 2020 one from Guitar Center. I had one of those Sweetwater '54 Les Paul Customs though. I sold it a year or two back and then regretted it, thus I'm glad to find this one.
A couple weeks ago I bought a very nice R9. The store had nearly a dozen and it was the best of those I tried. On Friday I went back and this time noticed a couple I'd missed. This one (pictured) I liked even better so I swapped them. It looks quite similar to the one I had only it's a somewhat...
I received this yesterday. I bought from Zzounds.I was supposed to get it the day before but FedEx tracking said it was delivered and "left at the front desk" on Wednesday afternoon. Problem is that there is no front desk where I live. I called FedEx and opened a ticket to track it down. The...
I have a True Historic R8 plain top. I love it the way it plays and sounds but I really want a Goldtop. Rather than go out and buy a Goldtop historic, I was toying with the idea of having it refinished as a Goldtop (and redo the binding at the same time).
Who would be best to do such a job...
Picked this up today. I don't know why Gibson calls this Seafoam Green. I thought the Gibson name for this color was Kerry Green (correct me if I'm wrong). If the color looks different from one photo to another. I guess it's hard to photograph accurately, at least for me.
LOL.
The sticker has been removed.
Here it is (sans sticker) net to my '54 LP Custom VOS.
This, by the way, is why it was odd for me to buy a Les Paul. These are only two of my 5 Les Pauls now, and no strats.
Thanks everyone.
Not very fat, no. I don't have working calipers so I don't know the measurement, but it's rather less than my R8.
Truetone Music in Santa Monica, CA.
Thanks everyone.
It's pretty fat. Fatter than another R8 I have (and may sell now that I've got the black one).
Can't tell. There are some slightly visible lines but I don't know if that's the VOS-like wear on the black finish or flame underneath.
An impulse buy (as usual). 8.75 pounds and black all over. The price you see below was not accurate. If it had been that much I would never have bought it. It was way less. It had been marked that high since they got it which was quite a while ago. It was actually about 2.5k less. Maybe that's...
I think they leave these inaccuracies in for now so that they fix them a year or two from now and say, "Look, now they're even more period correct!"
The tuners don't bother me. The inlays bother me a little bit, but not enough to keep me from buying one.
