Bigsby - B5 Towner VBlock Vs B7 Vibramate - Consensus for Les Paul

I went B3 with Towner and VBlock (the thread title should read B3 btw) and am happy with how it worked out. I messaged Christian and he was super quick to reply. It doesn't look noticeably different to the B3 on my Gretsch (which is factory) despite the block, and after some setting up stays in...

I'll go Towner and let you know how it goes!

Bigsby - B5 Towner VBlock Vs B7 Vibramate - Consensus for Les Paul

Hey what do you mean by loosen the studs? The base mounting screws? Re: the Towner system, the VBlock strap pin has to be that fat as it's basically just a spacer so that the B3 Bigsby is kept further back and not interfering with the tension bar (which is where the tailpiece would usually be).

Bigsby - B5 Towner VBlock Vs B7 Vibramate - Consensus for Les Paul

Hey. A few years ago I bought a B7 + V7 and ended up not installing it on my Les Paul Standard. Just from looking at it, it seemed like it wouldn't work due to the arch of the guitar and there being a significant gap between the Bigsby and the non-arched part of the end of the body. I can't...

    Neil Young Inspired 490R/498T Replacements...

Looking for advice...! Background: I am looking to replace the 490R and 498T pickups in my 2000 Les Paul Standard. Recently I decided to sell my Stratocaster leaving me with one electric, I don't intend to get another. Over the years I've experimented with pedals, guitars, amps, tubes...

    PA Design - Live Sound

Hello everyone Not sure what sub-forum to stick this is in so backstage it is. I have to design a PA system. I am a student asking for advice. If you consider me 'lazy' or what not then sorry; I am in fact trying. In simple terms the requirement is a modular system which will cover a...

which amp brands do you think have the cleanest cleans

Fender Twin, it's as close to 'sterile' as you will get with a tube amp.

    Rewire 4x12 as 2 * 2x12 for purpose of...

Conductivity According to this wood seems neither conductive or non conductive. Maybe an idea to somehow use rubber to mount the new input....

    Rewire 4x12 as 2 * 2x12 for purpose of...

Say I use one of these for the second cabinet input: Marshall, Dish Assembly V12X (that's ok isn't it - no need for a large panel) How far away does it need to be from the existing input panel? Obviously they cannot be mounted together on a conductive surface but I guess the birch cabinet is...

    Best Pedal Multi Power Unit

Undoubtedly the T-Rex Chameleon Channels 1-3, and 5 are selectable between 9VDC and 12VDC (and you can daisy chain up to 5 pedals off each too) Channel 4 is selectable between 9VDC and 18VDC (there are also cables to bridge other 9VDC together for more 18VDC (although not isolated then)...

    Rewire 4x12 as 2 * 2x12 for purpose of...

You overestimate me! I don't really see the advantage of the 4x12 setup. If I do two separate, simple, 2x12 setups and use an external switch to say what is on/not on at the same time i.e. my Voodoo Lab amp selector pedal isn't this the same thing except I control the switch on the fly...

    Rewire 4x12 as 2 * 2x12 for purpose of...

So you must have used a normal jack and one of these (the stereo 3 position one): 1/4 dpdt jack They're not expensive at all! Like he says though you can get external DPDT switches.

Thanks for the link I think this is the best page on it that I found too. What do you mean 'with internal cuttoffs' - and how did you add another jack? Do you regret it or are you happy? Do you think it IS a good idea and that I can get the setup I described? Also you are saying that you...

    Rewire 4x12 as 2 * 2x12 for purpose of...

Helloooo Thinking of rewiring my Marshall 4x12 1960BHW as two separate 2x12 circuits. The reason being I can then sell my OCD V3 pedal for £150 and buy a used Tiny Terror for £200 (approx +$75). If I stick the terror on the spare out of my Voodoo lab amp selector I can then have the 1987x...

    BM vs OCD

I got sucked into the whole OCD thing and then the version thing. Got my V3 for a good price. I don't like it on my twin reverb or my 1987X. It has a sort of brittle undefinable high end thing going on and it also creates a tiny bit of what can only be described as the shortest of reverbs. My...

Best solo boost pedal for les pauls and marshalls??!!

The distortion + is overdrive. The RAT is distortion. So they are not THAT similar. This is an absolutely awsome article by Gibson which goes into detail on the distortion +; RAT; and old and new tubescreamers. Plus really really handy in actually defining for a change the 3 categories...

FX pedal shipment from United States!

Ha ha I have probably watched over 100 PGS videos. I did think about re-wiring my 4x12 (Marshall 1960BHW) as two 2x12 seperate circuits and then picking up a second hand tiny terror for £200 and sticking it on the spare amp selector output. How's that for an overdrive kick!! Thing is though...

Yo all My brother is coming back for Christmas (from Greenville, SC to UK) and he says if I buy all the effects I want and get them sent to his house he will bring them over (no 19.5% import cost never mind delivery!). You guys don't know how lucky you are having pro guitar shop etc and access...
