Have you sanded your knobs lately?

I had already sanded an old pair of Epiphone knobs. I'll put these in the parts bag for later.

Have you sanded your knobs lately?

Thanks! I might put a tiny piece of aluminum tape on the end of the pot shaft. A dab of the body color paint or something close would work, too.

    Post your Gretsch thread

I got my first Gretsch a few months ago. Didn't know there was a thread for them. G2210 Streamliner Junior Jet™ Club

    Our New Bikes Arrived, Finally!

I haven't ridden any of my bikes in years. This is a '74 Favorit (Czechoslovakia) that I dragged home from the river. Was just a frame and a seat post, really. New wheels, tires, saddle, a custom 1" handlebar and a crappy paint job. It was converted by me to a fixed gear. The brakes and...

Have you sanded your knobs lately?

I have a cheap Gretsch with a long name: G2210 Streamliner Junior Jet™ Club And it came with clear knobs with black paint on the bottom and into the splines. So, naturally, the knobs appear black. Yeesh. I saw a photo of a vintage clear acrylic '52 Gretsch knob and decided I wanted those. It...

Great Vid on Orange 'sound' and history

I have a Micro Terror as my only Orange amp. It's just a 12AX7 and an SS power section, so I don't know if it sounds like an Orange or not ;)

Cupcake? Heresy? Pony? 4 stacks of plexi?

All of my low budget, LP-shaped guitars. Yeah, they're ugly, but I'm not out a lot of money. The Tribute has had serious coin put into it, but still cheaper than a new one, and how many fat necked LPs are there with mini hums? :hmm:

Cupcake? Heresy? Pony? 4 stacks of plexi?

I may change the pickup but I'm in no hurry to do so. I have to play it through more of my amps first.

NMMD - 'Nother Melody Maker Day

Polished the Melody Maker a bit to take some of the satin off. I'm playing with pickup height and have already lowered the treble side because it's just too bitey. The pickup is very bright so I might lower both sides a bit more. I don't care about output; all my amps have ample volume. I like...

Cupcake? Heresy? Pony? 4 stacks of plexi?

Playing around with the Melody Maker, changing pickup height and polishing it a little. I don't think I overpaid but this is likely the most cheaply built reissue ever from Gibson :hmm:

You were close on the price. The tag on it said $599 so it got discounted $150. $507 & change taxes in, or ~$385 US.

NMMD - 'Nother Melody Maker Day

2007 Melody Maker reissue I had to wait until the price came up on the Long & McQuade site at 2:00 PM today, and then nailed the Buy Now button. Paid a deposit, and then drove out and picked it up within 30 min. Satin finish, well looked after, and a real wrap tail and not a lightning bar...

Cupcake? Heresy? Pony? 4 stacks of plexi?

$449 + tax. Going to pick it up right now. I just kept refreshing until it said "Buy Now" and so I did, without really looking at the price closely. Woo Hoo! That's watered down Canadian dollars.

Cupcake? Heresy? Pony? 4 stacks of plexi?

It's a reissue. They are generally thinner than a Junior, but I haven't seen one in years.

I'm staying up to see what the price on the 2007 Melody Maker will be on the L&M site at 2:00 PM. Then I might buy it and go to bed, or just go to bed.
