    The Mad Hatter's Tea Party

That's as mad at the Grateful Dead sound system I posted a while back... Do you know who it's for?

    The Mad Hatter's Tea Party

Hello Tom & all. Cleaning house today - much dust and crap everywhere - long overdue. Heidi's finally back from skool and on holiday, so a joint effort. Don't much enjoy cleaning but there's a good feeling after it's done...

    The Mad Hatter's Tea Party

Hope it's a minor sprain (one of those that fades with a few painkillers and a couple of days). Like you, I do this about once a year because apparently I have 'weak ankles'. It's a damned nuisance so you have my sympathy.

    The Mad Hatter's Tea Party

Sorry, I missed out the quote, somehow. Me too. I will buy the successor unit to Helix in a few years if I am spared the plague but no real ambitions to own more guitars at this point and all my pedals are in a plastic storage box, where they will stay until I eventually get organised and sell...

    The Mad Hatter's Tea Party

They all sound fantastic when dialled in right. Above a certain product quality level, the behind-the-curtain stuff is pretty irrelevant. Some people actually dislike the Fractal stuff because the interface is so fiddly - which might be more important to Art, for example.

It's not a rabbit hole. It's really decent tones in under ten minutes. Seriously. If I couldn't get a totally serviceable tone out of a given amp model in Helix in under ten minutes I would have sold the bloody thing within a month. Pretty much all the negative stuff you hear about modelling...

You *love* tinkering around with kit :laugh2: That's why Helix would be perfect for you... You're just in denial :naughty:

Why not? It will solve your problems.

So much more to it than Pi r^2 :) Others have commented on room acoustics, amp placement etc. A crucial factor is also speaker efficiency rating (W -> dB) for any given frequency. It's so multifactoral it's impossible to make generalisations. An amp / speaker combo in a given room and take it...

Eh. That should be 10 yards. The beer is typing.

Sure, I get it - shot cone. I'm thinking 20 yards or more here - Enough distance for some spread. More and smaller but pretty sure this is a typo. Anyway, enough gun witter. Back to amps :thumb:

Could be we're slightly misunderstanding each other. I think you're thinking bullets not pellets? but Frank was talking about his tactical shotgun, hence the vague direction to 'aim low' :)

    The Mad Hatter's Tea Party

True, but still worth trying. Especially at close range and for the first shot.

    The Mad Hatter's Tea Party

The awful catch-22 of the 2ndA: if everybody's got one, you want one. There seems no escape from it, really. It's a relief there in the UK that guns are not widely in circulation. I'll stick to salt. The breath thing... :naughty: Aspirin active ingredient originally from willow bark, iirc...

Ed, you mentioned salt, which is bang on. My dentist, no less, recommends hot saltwater held in the mouth for several minutes, several times a day as a supplementary treatment to antibiotics. Or in preference to them if they can be avoided. Done this many times and can confirm that it works with...

    The Mad Hatter's Tea Party

It seems to depend on the individual - so far my dentist has been right - bar the occasional flare-up they are fine and he doesn't want to risk making matters worse by going in with the pliers... I'm glad to be resurfacing tbh - been a bit out of action for the last few days. Surprising how a...

    The Mad Hatter's Tea Party

Hopefully I should be okay on this stuff (amoxycillin) - it's what I've had on previous occasions with this same problem and I was okay. But I know what you mean - there was one time, years ago... I'm not going into details but it was bad - very bad -I have never seen colours like it...
