    Singlecut54 - Terry Morgan

Twelve years ago I acquired a Goldtop replica from a friend. I had been looking for a backup guitar so that I could leave my burst at home. I had tried the Historic route and was very disappointed. I auditioned the GT with several other replicas and as I played it I thought, " ...now this is...

    REAL 1959 les Paul

I know a little something about Bursts having owned one for the past thirty six years. One thing is that replaced parts are an issue, it tends to raise questions and "...the longer the tale, the harder the sale...". Also, I believe very little that I hear from a salesman. I doubt that those...

    REAL 1959 les Paul

Contemplating a Vintage Junior in the near future....Any advice?

Are '50s Les Pauls really much more resonant than later ones?

I've had a burst since '83, my experiences when comparing it to later Les Pauls has led me to conclude that it's not apples to apples, the 50's models are different.

I can't tell you what it is, but I can tell you what it isn't.

Are '50s Les Pauls really much more resonant than later ones?

So, I have to ask, how many 50's Les Pauls have you owned or played?

Were the original PAFs spec'd to have a hotter bridge pickup?

The neck pickup in my burst reads out at 8.60 while the bridge reads 8.06. My understanding is that it was not uncommon for these guitars to have a hotter neck pickup.
