Thanks for doing the math for me I was wondering about that.
Also the metal switch cover weight is right around an ounce so I put the plastic one on in its place.
You all have convinced me. The Bigsby will stay unpainted.
I told them when I was picking out the top " just give me your most screwed up, messed up top". They knew what I meant and I think it turned out great. The chambering has made this the ultimate couch guitar, its almost like playing an acoustic unplugged.
To answer davidos questions I got. I put...
Thought I would share this NGD. I am super happy with the way everything turned out.
I put in the order at a M2M event at my local music store which is Chicago Music Exchange and got to pick the serial number.
R0 specs but the body is fully chambered. It has the new 2019 pickups and...
Yeah, I mean I am sure you can order the same board that comes on the SG custom. I don't know if you think that is "actual" ebony.
But here is one. Gibson Custom Shop SG Custom Reissue Maestro Lightly Aged Faded Cherry (Serial #041471) | Chicago Music Exchange
I have always loved the Walnut SG of the 70's. The other issue for me is that a full nitro gloss finish always feels sticky in my hand on the back of the neck(am I crazy or do others feel this way). I know its a simple guitar but I have always loved the fell of the SG Faded series. When the...
Well it is starting to look like a 61. So I went with body number 2 (I chose to have the face of the wood shown in the photos used as the back because the front will be pretty covered up). I went with neck number 2 as the wood and grain matched the body the best. For finger boards I went with...
Everything is just in rough mill and is not shaped at all. It is more to get an idea of grain and color of the wood. Also with the fret-boards I asked for something different with some figure in it.
Here are some photos of the body being rough milled. The guy working in rough milling is...
Yeah I am not to worried about not being happy with it. I mean I am picking out every single piece of wood and it is being built right to my spec. Also there is not any real upcharge for this M2M over any custom shop SG so why not.
So I went with body 2. Neck and fingerboard shots.
So stuff started getting going on my M2M about two weeks ago. I am ordering a 61 Les Paul (SG) with some items that the custom shop does not usually make. It will be true historic spec all hide glue.
So I got to pick my slab. Which one would you go with???
