It's Friday night, post up some jams, Dav!
I don't know how you feel about these guys but I would love to see how its played.
I've always been drawn to the hollow sounding center of the chording and that ripping end in the rythmn .
I would go 32 as others have said. 3K guitar with a little extra for the widdow.
Dang it, Pappy.... This is the first one I seen in a while that made me itch to buy it!
My CAR will be paid of in a couple weeks...
But I'm not going up against you or any forum member, if I even got up the...
Easy killer! What did Leo ever do to you? :laugh2:
You don't HAVE to buy one....
There is also market forces at work here, IIRC you should know how those work.
Generating sentiment and a perceived value that may even be fictitious.
It's whatever the market will bear.
Fender can charge...
What you have pointed out are true advantages of Leo's assembly line mass produced methods.
He was ahead of his time in many respects on this..
But Leo was an upstart with no prior history of guitar making.
Gibson came from a long history of already producing some of the finest acoustic...
They are, IMO also.
They were built to be a mass produced, stripped down, easy to assemble instrument from the beginning.
Practicality and function was Leo's prime directive.
Hand carving tops and neck angles and set necks?
He made electric guitars affordable and available to the masses...
Dav, that was awesome!
Just wondering if it might work better tapping the string with the edge of the quarter held perpendicular to it instead of trying to pick it..
Just use a light hammer on and the metal edge should do the rest..
