    Mysterious Tweaker 15 Noise

Btw, never run the amp without a speaker plugged in.

    Mysterious Tweaker 15 Noise

Could have been dirty tube sockets or a bad tube. If it comes back, try swapping one tube at a time until the noise stops. If the noise continues after you swap out all tubes for known good tubes, there is a problem internal to the amp. Obviously this is assuming no guitar or cable is plugged in.

Is a High Spot on Les Paul Headstock Face Typical?

At least it isn’t off by a goat hair or more. A goat hair = 10 cunt hairs.

Anyone Ever Measue The Actual Wattage Of Their Amp

No you worded it perfectly :) I just read it wrong.

Anyone Ever Measue The Actual Wattage Of Their Amp

I wasn’t talking about adding an isolation transformer to the amp. I’m saying plugging the amp into an isolation transformer and plug your scope into normal wall power. This way the two grounds are totally isolated from each other.

Anyone Ever Measue The Actual Wattage Of Their Amp

I’ve read that an isolation transformer should be used when ever you use an oscilloscope to test an amp to prevent damage to the scope. What are your guys thoughts on this?

6.6k vs 8k Output Transformer Primary

They do look nice! I’ve never read a negative review of MM transformers. I’m sure they are worth the money, especially if you build amps for a living. I might throw down some money for a pair at some point. Hopefully they can provide a little more info, such as physical dimensions if I were to...

6.6k vs 8k Output Transformer Primary

Ok, it looks like mojotone do make their own trannies. I have no idea why I thought they were classic tone!

6.6k vs 8k Output Transformer Primary

Does mojotone make their own trannies? I thought they just sold classic tone? While we’re talking about this, what are your guy’s opinions on Hammond transformers? Ive heard nothing but good things about MM, but they are basically double the price of classic tone. I haven’t heard anything about...

6.6k vs 8k Output Transformer Primary

I noticed that MM didn’t list anything other than secondary impedance earlier when I was looking on their site. Not even mounting hole spacing on some.

6.6k vs 8k Output Transformer Primary

I always thought of sag as something that happens in the power supply, particularly with tube rectifiers. Had no idea the OT would sag as well. Also had no idea that transformers had magnets.

6.6k vs 8k Output Transformer Primary

    Eh it's fun to discuss.

6.6k vs 8k Output Transformer Primary

From the discussion so far, I'm gathering that a bigger OT would increase head room. From my limited research online, the only difference I could find is that a higher wattage OT uses larger gauge wire in the winding. And since the larger diameter wire takes up more space, the physical size of...

6.6k vs 8k Output Transformer Primary

I would have liked to try the ultra linear transformer in the build, but as soon as I cut the wires returns are impossible and I'd be out the 50 clams for another OT. Plus, the mounting holes were substantially different, so it would mean more holes in the chassis. But I do enjoy discussing...

6.6k vs 8k Output Transformer Primary

I remember watching a youtube video years ago where they were swapping OTs in a Marshall amp of some sort, maybe a plexi, but I'm not sure. The video was in another language, so I couldn't really understand what was being said, but there was a definite tonal difference from one OT to another...
