It’s not about protecting trademarks, because no Gibson trademarks have been illegally infringed upon by Heritage.
I’ve been a Gibson fan since the early 1980’s, and have owned both standard line and CS Gibson guitars since 1994.
I’d never even heard of Heritage or knew anything about them until I joined this forum in 2011 or so.
Since then I’ve bought multiple new and used Gibsons.
I don’t see how...
Gibson would be wise to remember a few things about the market:
1. Their prices are double or triple of your average guitar. Most people can't or don’t want to spend that much on a guitar. There are tons of options these days.
2. Younger players look at Gibson as ‘Boomer’ guitars. Not many...
I too am nature adjacent. I could easily hunt, fish and gather if I had to. We have a wood burning fireplace if needed, and 2 city water tanks behind my house. I only have a little over 1k rounds though.
