    OTPG Pickups - Review

So I recently got the chance to buy a couple of these at a reasonable price from a guy that help develop a few of the other OTPG parts and who I purchased a set of PAFs from previously. Firstly they really look the part. I mean, I'm not a stone cold expert but next to a PAF I really think I'd...

    The Italian Job

Reiving this thread with some recent shots on some guitars you've seen before. You can see how the goldtop was looking 22 months or so ago on the last page, although it had white rings on then. Original black m69s now. The arm wear and wear from where I rest my fingers has increased quite a bit...

    Mike Bloomfield PAF

Well actually I thought that as well so I don't think it is my playing...I never really listen to Clapton so didn't expect much of it rubbed off. The tone here is different for sure but there's some overlap. Its the saxaphone element to the tone end I think, kinda reedy and sounds almost blown...

    Mike Bloomfield PAF

Haha the amp isn't turned too high up...it's got a Hudson sidecar in front which does a great job replicating the cranked tone at a lower volume. But with the JBL speaker it's never exactly quiet!

Thought I'd share...vintage pafs into an 72 deluxe reverb. Not far off right!? Tone wise that is...I still need to give the playing some work!

Sh****t! I left my amp on......

If the amp is well built that shouldn't be a problem at all. Most good builders would leave if on a super long time as part of post build quality control. Honestly, don't sweat it.

Vintage PAFs - Review and Sound Clip

It's 22 watt, 6l6 amp, with a front end based on a Princeton (treble.and bass controls) and a tweed type cathode bias back end. Also has reverb and trem. Sounds kind of like a brown deluxe with more headroom and reverb I'd say. Breaks up in about 5 if you got the strings hard with a PAF type Les...

    Are ThroBaks Worth It Really

So true...my best sounding guitar accoustically took a good few pickup swaps before there was a set that really married well with them.

    NAD 5e3 Tweed Deluxe

I have a heavily modded tweed deluxe and it's the one amp I've kept longer than any other. 6l6s, gz34, switchable negative feedback and bass / treble but still can sound like it did prior to modding and that's a hell of a sound for sure

Dual amp setup with Tweed Deluxe

Vintage PAFs - Review and Sound Clip

Like many of you here I've been pretty obsessed with tone since I started playing guitar. And when it comes to pickups the old ones always seem to be touted as the holy grail. I've played a lot of great modern winders - bareknuckle, OTPG etc - but eventually I took the plunge on an early PAT...
