That's right. So why do people care if they make two sock puppets get "married".
Edit- I forgot to thank Captain Obvious for his keen observation. Thank you
Who cares! I really don't see why people are getting bent out of shape about it, especially in this day and age. I think the lesson is that they want to show kids that gay marriage is normal and not grow up to be hate mongers. I'm sure some of the "God fearing" people will shit themselves after...
I've got Seymour Duncan SP90-2s in the mail already. The guitar is being heavily modded with a new top, so chipping away at the body is no problem. I'm just wondering if I'd need to install a new center block (making a semi-hollow) or if I can stuff them in with some adjustments to the humbucker...
Nothing is wrong with Epiphone as a whole. I just believe from personal experience that they shit the bed with the "Special" line. They are $100 guitars for $200. If you can get one for $100 or less, I say go for it. Otherwise, for $200 you can get better built guitars. If you can't fork out the...
I've looked into finding a pickguard for the Special II and I don't think they make them aftermarket. The knob placement is the issue. Your best bet would be to buy an aftermarket Gibson Special pickguard and trim to fit (they use P90s). Or buy the ply and custom make it to fit.
If you're talking about the SG Special, I imagine it would be of the same build quality as the Special II. Crap. I just stripped one and found that they are plywood (not a big deal to some), the pickup cavities were off and the hardware is junk. There are many guitars in the $200 price range...
Thanks for the warning. I can't believe they're selling that for any price at all. It's atrocious. Please do publish the conversation. I can only imagine that they produced a bigger pile in their pants once they found out you were reviewing it.
No offense taken. It's a steaming pile for sure. To be honest, I wasn't expecting it to be that bad when I was taking it apart. It's just a fun build though and I have no disillusions that this is going to magically turn into an amazing piece of work. I'm planning on buying a kit next, so if...
It's slow going. I'm doing home renovations and have a new baby, so I'm not getting too many chances to work on the turd.
I'm waiting on my P90s to arrive and I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to do as far as routing goes. Would I be able to adjust the size of the humbucker cavities...
I want to see how shiny I can make this turd! I've been wanting to do a build of some sort and figured I'd ruin this POS guitar first. Worst case scenario, I use the P90's and hardware for something better.
I bought this cheap Epi Special II a while back and decided to get my hands dirty with my first overhaul. I've never done anything to a guitar other than change the strings, so this should be fun. It'll be a bit of a slow build/mod because I've got all kinds of other things going on, but I'm...
The list of Strat series/wood that I posted previously is current and from Squier's website. The Bullet and Deluxe are the only basswood models. That being said, that list is of recent years. What Squier model is made from poplar? I've only seen Strat copies (like Xaviere) use poplar.
Good point. I'll go with the SP90-2. I checked prices and it's $40 cheaper for the set than the STK-P1s. Probably would have gone that route anyways because of cost. Thanks
