    We've been warned!

Hit-Nail-on-Head, Peter. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and only enhances the Brand. My own experience was to buy a "lawsuit" guitar (perfectly legal in Japan), but then wanting "the Real Thing," Grass Roots was helping G, not hurting them. edit: I bought a Studio, an SG, two...

What's on YOUR workbench right now?

Still, Chris, you're gonna have to spray some water on that chain to get it right. Everyone knows that Patina = Tone. When you post a YouTube of you banging away to the background of "I've Been Workin' on the Railroad," folks will shake their heads and say, "Not enough rust on the chain."

Moreover, which has better tone, new chains, or old rusty chains? :dunno:

    Going off topic.

@ARandall, Ben mentioned that he'd checked out the Squawk Box, and I have, too. It's true that there are some fantastic amp builders here, but I agree that there's not a lot of small amp design or tweaks talked about. Which kinda makes sense ... Les Pauls are associated more with Big Watt...

    Going off topic.

I was building 5-watters and a few 15W at Shock Brothers forum on TDPRi. Some knowledgeable gurus there, and pretty laid back. Shock Brothers TDPRi There was even a thread lately ... Low watt Pentode powered amp I am also a member at AX84, but some folks freaked out at my "unsafe" 5C1-ish...

    Skyjerk no more

Prediction: your cleaver will be a paring knife. ;) Careful, fingers can become stumps pretty quick, I would imagine. Some of the kit knives were awesome, some pretty mediocre. I'm working on an awesome one now. Pretty nice stainless Persian, quite hefty, and will have Pink Ivory...

    Skyjerk no more

Chris, Feeling some serious envy over here. I've been messing with some kit knives (no smithing for me, sadly), and using my cheapo 4" belt sander ... a ridiculously poor substitute for a proper monster like that! Sigh. Enjoy, Grindjerk! :p

    Bass build!

It’s the latest in piercing, my friend! Yesterday was like a combination of “The Clockwork Orange” and Darth Vader’s mind probe. All you have to do to get a poke is to get PVD and BRVO with VEGF ... ang cough up $500 a pop. That is one gorgeous top!! (not that I expected anything less from...

    Bass build!

Hey Chris, good to see a Skyjerk build thread! I’ve already expressed privately my condolences, but again, so sorry for your losses. I’ve been gone too ... I’m now in a waiting room at Yokohama Keiyu Hospital to get a needle poked into my eye. If it goes well, I may be able to get my depth...

Merry day-after-Christmas from Japan! Good on you, @lowatter ... and many more. (I’m still around, and will finish the semi-hollow build soon)

New Magnum Build. Not Pointy :-)

Just WoW, Chris! I really like outdoor shots ... the way sky blue touches chrome and colors bevels and carves, the sun shadows. Delicious! :yesway::yesway: :) (but that dark nub of shade covering your 12th fretbirds ... Gaaahh! ;)) You really outdid yourself on this one ... A&W waves, a most...

will these gotoh locking fit my 2009 traditional?

@jkes01's solution is pretty good ... I have that exact pairing on a Melody Maker, and those bushings do a nice job of (not quite) covering the marks left by the original washers. Indeed, the Kluson Revolution is plug-and-play for the 10mm peg holes, but the included bushings look to be...
