Congrats! These are both tempting me too...I may have to sell something.
How are the frets on these? Any dead spots, buzzing. I had to do a little bit of fret work on my Lazarus, which now plays wonderfully. Not quite Gibson low-action, smooth, but nice.
Scuffham Amps has incredible modeling amp interface with pre-existing amp banks. Perfect to download on to your computer at home. Just plug your guitar chord directly into the computer with an inexpensive Apogee JAM interface. Tube amp touch at your service. You can practice, record, and sound...
I wrote that the veneer on the Lazarus (most that I've seen in person and on this forum) have a nice "depth" to it, not thickness. The illusion of depth. Most cheaper veneer guitars (not the those faked wallpaper guitars) still lack visually for me. There is a Guitar Center near me that had that...
Sorry, I meant the thin Maple Veneer over the cap. Some veneers look like flat wallpaper. The veneer on the Lazarus has a really nice depth to it and the colors shift nicely in the light.
There you go! Yes, mine is darker with a slightly more amber coloring as opposed to how they look online in photos for the most part. Maybe they want them to appear more "lemony."
Looks like a killer top! And I agree with rbraad68, they are much nicer looking in person. Even though they have that very thin Maple Cap, there is a lot of depth and movement that you usually do not get with other Epi's I've picked up and played in music stores.
They won't sell you the guitar? Seriously? What kind of candy-a business is that? You should post their name here...that is just WRONG and unethical IMO.
I purchased a 2004 Ebony Standard last fall at a Guitar Show. He had it listed at $1850, I offered $1700 and we agreed to $1750. It came with one of those Canadian made cases. It plays like a dream. The moment I sat there in the booth and played it acoustically, I knew it was a keeper. I cannot...
The guitar is well-worth the original $899. And if it has a really nice top, it's should get a bit more. If you can get one under the original price, I'd grab it.
I played one this past weekend at my local Guitar Center. $899. Both pickups appeared to be set up to their proper heights, yet the neck pickup was much louder than the bridge. And there was no more room to drop it down. The bridge pickup was close to the strings, not sure what the deal was with...
LOL...I'm with you!
The ONLY reason I was thinking of selling, was to take the money and put it towards a new 2022 60's Les Paul Standard with a killer flame top. But it would be so cool to keep the Laz and just save up for that...one day! (I had a 1969 LP Deluxe Gold Top that was stolen from a...
Here's a pic of mine when from when I was going to sell...I'm definitely not doing it, at least for now, lol. My best friend came over the other night...it was the first time he got to see it in person and actually play it, and he loved it. So for now, it's a keeper.
You made yours into a Slash-type LP, nice! That is a stunner of a top. And you also did the polish...which I may do on mine. How did you get your fretboard so dark? I darkened mine with Lemon oil, it looks good, but yours looks REALLY dark.
