    current slim necks

Hi. I have no experience with the Gibson Les Paul. Last LP I had was an Epiphone and it had this semi chunky D-shaped neck. But a friend of mine had a Traditional and it had a relatively slim C-ish neck. It's not Ibanez slim but pretty slim for an LP. Just wanna know if based on the current LP...

    on topwrapping

I changed my strings earlier after a year. Yes, I am that poor now after the recent expenses. Anyway, I use Elixir 10-46 on my Epi LP PTP. I intended to have it top wrapped but then, I noticed that the binding by the ball end looked like it would break if I really strung the string that way...

    electronics PTP

Hi I have a question regarding the electronics of my Epi LP PTP. Looking into stewmac for replacement parts and wondering: should I get the tall or short CTS pots? what pot for tone knobs? 250k or 500k? tall or short toggle switch? are emerson pio caps better than orange? would i have to...

Beginner/Bedroom Amp - Orange, Marshall, Blackstar

Update: I really can't fall in love with the mini cab of the Micro Terror. it's the only cab I can afford if I will go for that Mini Head. Blackstar Fly and ID Core are sold out. Option 1 is slightly used Blackstar HT-1R about $200-220 Option 2 is the Boss Katana. I will test the 50w...

Beginner/Bedroom Amp - Orange, Marshall, Blackstar

Sorry i wasn't able to make it clear, I'm not from the US so we have limited amp choices here in our country. Add the exchange rate and things get really expensive. And yes, the choices presented are the bottom of the barrel for the said brands because those barrels are expensive. again...

Beginner/Bedroom Amp - Orange, Marshall, Blackstar

the boss katana 50w is $199 here. salesman is tempting me to go for the 100w but it's out of range already. it has great cleans and really nice dirty amp models. thing with that is, i didn't really dig the most of the pedal effects integrated. this is why i'm not for modelling amps, i feel like...

Beginner/Bedroom Amp - Orange, Marshall, Blackstar

was able to try the Katana 100w today, but set it to 50w and 0.5w only. really impressed with the tones, especially the cleans. didn't know my amp search would be this complicated haha

Beginner/Bedroom Amp - Orange, Marshall, Blackstar

update: still haven't bought an amp because my bonus hasn't come yet. fly 3 is already out since there's no stocks ran out. for the orange, i really find the gain lacking. currently leaning towards scoring a cheap amp with 12" speakers and just go trigger happy on pedals in the near future...

Beginner/Bedroom Amp - Orange, Marshall, Blackstar

Is the Fly 3 as good as I hear on YouTube demos? The thing that I doubt with those vids is the amp is mic'ed up, so of course it will sound better than having the sound organically from speaker to my ears.

Beginner/Bedroom Amp - Orange, Marshall, Blackstar

As some of you know, I just bought an LP a few weeks ago and now, thankfully, on the market for an amp. I cannot tell you the price range because dollar to philippine peso exchange rate and all, and some of the amps are on a sale anyway. First to catch my attention was the Blackstar Fly 3. I...

    NGD: Standard Plustop Pro

Finally after years of lurking here and two years of being guitar-less, I got one second hand from a good friend of mine. My budget was tight, but he agreed on a 14-mo payment since he bought a Gibson on credit card. Currently saving up so I can get it setup by my preferred...
