Nope, just went around it all by hand to see what the result would be... will eventually take out the hardware and do it right next time I change the strings, if every, since I do not play it that much.
Ok, just tried it out on my least favorite gibson lp a 2016 studio faded t and at the end the unpolished 59....................and here is a faded t off the internet. I am going to think about for a day or 2 before making a decision... The studio looks a lot better imo but unfortunatley it did...
