Yeah I can see the point about the lack of transition between red and yellow, however I have seen ones that just look like they are glowing like molten rock and I think it looks awesome... looks like a real 70's rock or glam rock finish.

Ok I did a search for clownburst on google only to find the particular variation of cherryburst i liked so much are actually the laughing stock of the electric guitar world? Have people gone mad?!! They look so bright and colourful, am I the only person in the world who appreciates these...
Just to clarify my initial use of the word "dull" in reference to standards, what I probably should have said is the intensity of the colours (red, yellow) and the degree of the 'burst don't appear to be as aggressive as the vast majority of the customs I have seen.
