I don't get the cramps but the '62 SG Special I had for years had the slimmest neck I've ever played but I was looking for more a LP tone so I picked up my '97 DC Studio.
I think Gibson dot necks in general have the slimmest necks in their lineup. Dot neck 335's do as well.
I just found this posting and wanted to chime in.

My question to all is; are the mahogany body thickness' the same as a traditional LP? Seems my version is thinner mahogany than these Standards.

If you're playing a Tele or Strat at least go for a twangy sound first. Simple twang can work in a pinch. Maybe some quick bends and slides in the mix to sound a bit like a pedal steel. Listen to some of the best and get a feel and do your own thing. You don't have to be as fast as Brad Paisley...
