That's what I thought too, but you can see on the picture the "Les Paul" writing on the headstock is missing, and I think they wrote Les Paul from '61 to '63 ?
Hi there,
I've got an eye on a beautiful 60's SG Junior, but the seller is not 100% of the year it was made. I've got some pics and a serial number so I'd appreciate if anyone could help on this one!
He also says the nut width is 1 9/16 which I believe must be post-1965, but the pots (that may...
Cool, thanks a lot for your help Kris. You seem to be the SG Junior guru in here :thumb:
The owner replaced the bridge for some reasons. Also, the guitar feels a bit hard to play in the beginning - I'm struggling to do perfect pitch bends haha.
I think I'm gonna put the original bridge back to...
I got it! the nut width is not a problem at all. I have small hands so it's actually better for me haha. Thanks a lot for your help guys.
I noticed the serial number is 870232, anyone could tell me the exact year?
Yeah... The guy said it had a nut width of 1 9/16. I've never trued that but I guess I'll get used to it? Worst case if it's really annoying I can re sell it.
I'm really confused about the nut width and neck profiles on SG's in the 60's. I like beefy, rounded necks (for example 59 necks) - but I don't like very big "shoulders" (maybe that's what the nut width is all about?)
Hey all,
I'm looking to buy an SG with P90 (either one or two) and a vibrola. I was thinking of the Juniors.
I had a 61 SG Junior but I sold it a few months ago because the neck was extremely thin, which I don't like.
So I guess I'm looking for a '65 to '69 Special or Junior? How is the...
Yes it's a 2006, the seller mentionned it was a 2006 when I contacted him, but that's not the question haha. :thumb:
What do you mean the finish? Also it weights 8 lbs, is that a lot compared to the average weight of juniors?
Yeah, like the bends are not that easy and it's pretty difficult to play, maybe it's just a matter if habit. I'll take her for a good set up anyways.
However I'm a bit disappointed in the way that I wanted a very beefy one, -6034 ballsy like the 59 DC I tried a few weeks ago, it was amazing...
Very nice guitars guys.
I got mine, it's very good and it is in beautiful condition. However it is a little bit harder too play than I thought, it's pretty hard to get along with it in my opinion and normally I don't really have problems with that!
The previous owner was in a Ozzy Ozbourne...
Thanks for the answers.
More details : this specific one weights 7.63 lbs. I honestly prefer the vintage sunburst one but couldn't find one in the UK...
Hi there!
So I was gassing for a Singlecut Junior for a long time and tried a few original 50's Juniors but buying one of these in the UK is very difficult - they're very rare and very expensive (found two for around £5000 each).
So I looked at the Historics versions and they look pretty...
