I prefer V8's... some don't.
When it's your money I say spend it on what makes you happy.
If I'm going to spend 50/60K on a new truck it's going to have a V8. But that's just me.
I'm 64 and retired and probably only average around 5,000 miles a year now, so fuel mileage is a non issue for me, never has been actually.

My mom had Alzheimers/dementia and spent the last 5 years in a nursing home, at a 100K per year, and just passed away last week. She would have been 91 next month...
