Classic straw-man.
I've never advocated banning guns, although several people in this thread seem to "suspect" that's my hidden agenda.
If you're not listening to what I actually say, there's no reason for me to say anything.
I'm disappointed how this thread turned out, but I can...
Prep much Rob? Sounds like you're well prepared for the apocalypse. Good luck with that.
You keep referencing comments or posts I've made in other threads. I wish you had called me on them at the time, because I have a hard time following all of these alleged affronts to your...
From the teachers I've spoken with, including one who is from Sandy Hook, bringing firearms into a first grade classroom, even for defensive purposes, isn't what they consider a very good idea.
At least it's a suggestion.
How could that tragedy have been prevented? I honestly don't know...
Fair enough. I think you're wrong. The constitution was not intended as an inflexible document, it was intended to grow over time. That's my opinion. There are a lot of other people who share my opinion, and there are many who share yours. That's why we vote.
When the constitution was...
I completely agree with everything in the above post.
A discussion. Of potential options. Not necessarily perfect options... Just options that you think might-could work for you.
I'm not trying to take your guns. You were the one who proposed that as a hypothetical. Personally, I don't...
I'm not trying to "take anyone's guns". Although you guys seem to think so.
Someone else made a reference to unvetted refugees upthread, which has since been Ninja-edited. That's fine, it was off topic anyway.
It seems to me like there are mass shootings everyday, and some people are...
Answer the question. I'm clearly losing the popularity contest, but I don't see any one proposing anything other than "more of the same".
Btw, all the shooters last week were angry disenfrachised white males. How do our borders or poor vetting of refugees have anything to do with mass shootings?
Look at some of the other posts. Clearly some people believe they have a constitutional right to overthrow the government.
That sets the tone for ANY discussion of firearms that comes after.
I have never said there is no right to self defense. Never, not once.
I think the frequency and number of mass shootings is unacceptable.
If you're okay with mass shootings, then we disagree on that too.
The question is, how to improve the situation?
Originally tried to add these to my previous post. Thought better of it.
All since last Sunday:
Five dead in Washington state murder-suicide | Reuters
Kansas gunman kills 3, injures 14 before dying in shootout with police | Fox News
Police: Five dead after shooting, house fires in...
That's exactly what I said. If you believe that you have a right to overthrow the government by force, you won't agree with me.
Being a vet entitles you to respect. Thank you for your service. I mean no disrespect, but it does not make you an expert in constitutional law.
In fact, I...
Why do you need a hunting rifle if you do not hunt? And a hand gun permit, aka a pistol permit, is a permit to carry a pistol. They may not have them in your state. They do in others.

I like your suggestion, but I can see some problems with it too.. However, this is a good...
