NGD Gibson LP Axcess Custom Hardtail

Oooooo is that white headstock side binding? Or is the whole neck white? Super cool either way.

NGD Gibson LP Axcess Custom Hardtail

I’ve also got a Gibson Classic Lite for anyone interested in those. They’re not in the same league as the Axcess but it’s still indistinguishable from a Classic or Standard (again, to my ear). I love the LP style but the longer I play, the more I realize I want the same design in a more...

NGD Gibson LP Axcess Custom Hardtail

I’ve had a few Gibson LP Customs over the years but wanted something more ergonomic. To be blunt, this Axcess is exactly what I want in a guitar: The action is almost laughably low without buzzing, it’s under 8lbs so my back is happy, plays wonderfully and it sounds (to my ear) indistinguishable...

    HAVING A SETUP DONE

I got a brand new guitar from Sweetwater where they reversed the bridge and shipped it (high E was in the largest saddle cut which was a dead giveaway). I like the company but let’s just say I no longer value their 55 point inspections

    HAVING A SETUP DONE

I’ll do any of the basic adjustments (action, relief, intonation, etc.) but as soon as it gets more advanced or risks damage I go to a pro. I had a Fender that drove me insane for 2 months before I gave up and got it shimmed by a local shop.

Is this an neck joint issue ?

More pictures would be very helpful. As already mentioned, I too doubt it’s structural in nature

    Murphy Lab finish falling off?

I understand falling in love with a guitar (flaws and all) but this response really nails the issue. If this were a low-value or vintage model with an established resale, maybe it’s worth just keeping a guitar you know makes you happy. But on these extremely expensive Murphy’s? That’s like...

Too many Les Paul's?....blasphemy, I say there's never enough Les Pauls one can own...

I can end this debate definitively. The maximum number of Les Pauls is 2, specifically because my wife says I can’t have 3.

How well do satin finishes age?

Maybe I’m crazy but I love the look of that SG neck. I want my guitars to look played because I’ve played them; I always get sad when I see a 20 year old LP with zero wear.

How well do satin finishes age?

I’ve always loved satin finishes on my guitars and was thinking of doing a M2M LP Custom in satin black. Anyone have some pictures of how Gibson’s satin ages over time, especially after significant play? Any concerns?

Best way to remove/cover strap buttons?

Yeah I know I could leave the holes exposed but it’s just not very attractive. I usually just remove them on my Fenders and Taylors and find a suitable screw but I’m more nervous about my Gibsons

Best way to remove/cover strap buttons?

I know this is going to sound stupid, but is there a good way to remove strap buttons and cover the holes on Gibson LPs? I have a bad back so I only play sitting (i.e. I don’t even own a strap) so these buttons are just inconvenient and make me nervous about ripping a hole in furniture...

Am I dumb or did Gibson install saddle wrong?

I can’t complain too much; the guitar plays like a dream so reversing a bridge isn’t the end of the world.

Am I dumb or did Gibson install saddle wrong?

Not sure I follow. Is something wrong? I know I need to completely re-intonate the bridge after swapping it if that’s your concern.

Am I dumb or did Gibson install saddle wrong?

For the record this was a brand new guitar from Gibson via Sweetwater. I only caught it while restringing the guitar. At first I thought I somehow reversed it but nope, the pictures from Sweetwater show it’s backwards. Kind of astounded this got missed.

Am I dumb or did Gibson install saddle wrong?

Here are my two ladies: one is a factory gold ebony (now fixed thanks to you folks) Gibson LP Custom and the other is a factory nickel rosewood Gibson LP Custom

Am I dumb or did Gibson install saddle wrong?

So I just got my new LP Custom. The guitar plays beautifully, but unless I’m a total idiot, I think they installed my saddle upside down. The notches for the high E string are bigger than the low E. Is this a problem?
