Orville and Orville By Gibson colors?

Jeez, there is no Korean anything with any Orville or Orville by Gibson. The Korean stuff is just internet dumbness. All of the Orvilles (including the so called K Orvilles) were made by Terada and Fujigen and no other guitar factory was involved. Same for Epiphone Japan guitars that came...

    A very strange Orville?

They are saying it's from the last year of the Orvilles which they also think is 1990 as judged by it's serial number 90809xx and they try to explain the Epiphone truss rod cover parts by saying it's from the last year of the Orville's when the Orville's had Epiphone parts, which is totally...

A bit delayed NGD: Orville LPC in wine red

Terada made some fine looking Wine Red (K) Orvilles that are basically the same as the Terada made Wine Red "Orville By Gibsons" except for the pickups and a few other things.

    A very strange Orville?

Looks totally fake to me. The "Orville" logo letters are too fat for a start. The "O" is not a usual Orville "O" and only has a pretty small black centre of the "O" because the white parts of the "O" are too wide. The usual Orville "O" has thinner white parts and a larger black centre part...

    Orville (not OBG)

A K Orville (or any Orville) was not generally at OBG feature quality, otherwise it would have been sold at OBG prices, obviously. A lot of the feature quality is visual ie nicer tops etc etc and added features like pickups and fretboard binding etc etc, but the actual wood is the same African...

    Orville by Epiphone Samik

There is another one with a serial starting with a L here http://www.mylespaul.com/forums/other-single-cuts/117381-l-serial-orville.html Only a few have been found like this with L serial numbers over the last 10 years or so as far as I know, so they are probably fake Chinese Orvilles IMO...

    Orville by Epiphone Samik

It's fake. No Orvilles were made in Korea by Epiphone or any others. There are lots of things wrong with it including the fretboard inlays for a start.

Interesting how they ditched the dowels for this one.

NGD Greco "super Power eg-500 1980

The "Super Real's" (Super Power, Super Sound) have dowel tenons (all the ones I've seen do anyway), and the Mint Collection was when the long tenon happened, but there are some transitional "Super Real"/"Mint Collection" hybrids around so once again no strict rules just general guidelines...

NGD Greco "super Power eg-500 1980

Yeah well, strict rules don't apply to Grecos all of the time, which is what I was saying in my above post. I don't see a serial number in that link, but it wouldn't surprise me if a low end "Super Real" was from 1982, but in general the lower end "Super Real's" got replaced by "Super Power"...

NGD Greco "super Power eg-500 1980

The early U-1000's are Alnico 8 like the early Super 70s, but the later U-1000's might be ceramic as are the later Super 70s. Maxon seems to have changed the magnets for the lower end U-1000's and Super 70s, maybe sometime around 1979/1980 (educated guess). The Maxon serial has no pickup type...
