Bare Knuckle Pickups - on a HRI?

I just picked up a '57 LPC BB HRI (solid mahongany body) and the burst buckers are awesome. Nice woody tone, sustains fabulously.... But, I also play in a metal band. I'm looking for a "bit" more cut and top-end slice to even out the mahogany punch.:hmm: What are the thoughts on the BKP...

NGD: 1957 Historic RI LP Custom BB

Hi TM1! I know what you mean- Frampton's had 3, Mick Jones' had 3 (til he pulled one out and filled it in) and of course Page's had 3. Gibson.com: Gibson 1957 Les Paul Custom 3 PU VOS But for some reason, she's available also in this config Gibson.com: Gibson 1957 Les Paul Custom 2 PU VOS...

thanks jamman. I just returned from rehearsal and the band was pretty non-chalant about her... most likely due to their collective gear snobbery...:slap: Anyway, jamman you are correct in that the tone is definitely darker/fuller on the low-mids. The lower timbre sounds fuller than...

Dumb Question: How do you "Thank" somebody in a thread?

can we still thank posters and people on this forum? I'm not seeing the "thumbs up" icon on anyone's threads...:hmm: Found it - never mind! :)

NGD: 1957 Historic RI LP Custom BB

Forgot to mention that the ebony's as black as night (great selection Nashville!), and the non-aged split-diamond came out fantastic. BUT the best part is the asymmetrical 1960 Beano neck. It is a DEAD RINGER for the EC 1960 Signature. I just pulled out the EC and compared the 2. DEAD...

NGD: 1957 Historic RI LP Custom BB

OK, so she landed in So Cal about 1.5 hours ago. Have NOT plugged her in yet, because I've been so blown back by her acoustic tones. She has an attack (that probably the new strings) but not in a "snap" (e.g. maple top) way - it's articulate but pronounced in the lower and higher mid-timbres...

Brett, YOU ROCK brutha. Again, all the big headed sales people on BOTH coasts should take a lesson from the midwestern boys on how to make customers feel like a rock star. Simple things like following up, checking in, and oh, here's a new one - doing what you said you'd do - goes a million miles...

So much for the GIBSON RAID....whatever "that" waste of DoJ time was last month, and their mindless witchhunt for Indian rosewood and ebony....this badboy made it through. Mahogany top and back, Eric Clapton 1960 "beano" neck profile (not as thin as Page's), burstbuckers 1 and 2 and aged...
